I rather enjoy the old Twilight Zone episodes. But those are very hit-or-miss. To Serve Man, brilliant. Others, not so much.

Again, as you say, not in the same class.

I have to say X-Files was one of the best TV series ever. Maybe third behind B5 and the first five or six seasons of SG-1. Course past about season 5 or 6 it started to go south too. But even so it was an icon of the 90s.
