[Trailer] Wanted

An interview with the producer pointed out that they optioned the rights to the comic before it was done, so they thought it was just about bad-ass assassins (three asses!), not about . . . well, you know. Spoilers and all that.

I, for one, welcome our non-spandex wearing overlords.

So, I saw the movie.

It was okay. Not great by any stretch of the means, but a good action flick.

The Fraternity would make a good Shadowrun initiatory group of gun adepts, and the friend who saw it with me mentioned that the Loom of Fate would make an amusing D&D plot element.

(I was also muttering under my breath about Sidereal assassins, but he's not into Exalted)

Can't really much stand the idea of Mark Millar getting any cut of a movie that opened with fifty million bucks. Just gotta remind myself that the actual cut that the licenser gets is actually pretty small.

Trailer looks terrible. Even if you could scoop somebody up into your car like that, aren't you least smashing his ankles?

Meh. I'll never quite get this. Why option a story that might just as easily have been created from whole cloth? I mean, Iron Man and Batman I get; they've been around, they've got a high recognition level. But a book like Wanted? What's the point?

Having seen it, I'm happy.

I despise the comic. There's just so much bad about it. But the movie takes the few good things(action, violence, etc) and got rid of the bad things(the plot...) and ran with a very good action movie.

I'd say this is the first action movie since The Matrix to really have innovative and 'woah' moments for the audience.

I loved it. It made me want to shoot things. Instead I played Halo, and I've got to say, the big gunfight at the end reminded me a bit of an FPS, what with the killing a guy and taking his gun before he's even hit the floor. *grin*

I thought it was great by any stretch of the imagination, but I can see why it might not appeal to all.

Got to say I loved it. It was all in the presentation and pace, both were excellent. The humor did not hurt either, spoiler...
love the keys from the key board spelling out the guys feeling after he went postal in the office
...end spoiler actting was fair to good and plot / story were okay.

I've never seen the comic, and loved the movie.

I liked the actors, the plot, certain unexpected elements (no spoilers in this thread), the humour, the action again.

Huge fun.
