OOC : wow, i'm the only one posting for a few days, then the game explodes into action when work called me away. Sorry for the late reaction.

A few hours earlier.

"My dear master Kundarak. Please tell the rest of your house that even the most intricate lock is useless when you control the one who holds the key.

ladies, gentlemen, I wish you the best of luck with the contraptions, but I fear my skills would be useless. Perhaps we shall meet again."

With that he stand up and walks away.

"...umm excuse me.....but could you perhaps....aid my companion here... i am not that skilled a rope climber."

Samarik hears Fearalan's concern as he scales the wall. "Oh, don't worry, Fearalan. I'm hoping that there is a level or something on the other side that will open the door; I don't think this rope would support our warforged friend." He shrugs. "There has to be some way to open the door without dispelling the magic. How else would the owner of the manor get in?"

"that may be but i would imagine if someone went thru all the trouble of locking it, i assume it would be a little more difficult than that." the druid shrugs and steps away from the rope hoping he wont have to climb, the wolf seems relieved at not being carried over by the warforged.

Guardian looks down at the wolf. "If we wind up needing to use the rope to climb, and we get enough rope to safely transport my weigth, then perhaps we could secure your wolf to my back, and I can scale the wall. If my entering the premesis by scaling the wall proves to be impossible, and I cannot smash the gate or find some other method of entry, then I will remain out here and guard your companion."

"Guardian," he says, "Is it possible that you can give me a lift over that gate?"

Guardian examines the gate.

If it looks to only be 9-10' tall (or less), then he says, "I can certainly attempt it. Climb up on my shoulders, and I will lift you up." He will call out to Samarik, "Samarik, I am going to see if I can lift Gimble over the gate. If so, he will meet you on the other side."

If the gate is as tall as the surrounding wall (i.e. 15' tall), then he says, "I do not think our combined height will reach that far. I could try to throw you over, but that may result in severe injury on your part. Perhaps we should wait for Samarik to finish scaling the wall."

OOC: Patlin, has anyone touched the gate so far? I know Gimble examined it and determined that there were no traps, but if no one has touched it, Guardian will smack it with the back of his hand to ensure there are no traps before he tries anything with Gimble.

For reference, Guardian is 6'5" tall, and can probably lift Gimble a few feet higher than that.

Also, I'm fairly certain the answer to this is no (because the fall back solution to anything in this adventure would become terribly easy), but is the slam attack of a warforged with adamantine body considered an adamantine weapon? I know you need the Silver Tracery and Cold Iron Tracery feats for your slam to count as those, but didn't see anything similar for a warforged. I think I'd need an adamantine battlefist for that.

Fritz looks to the druid Fearalan, If need be your companion could stay outside and watch our rear with my hound Liam.

Fritz does not have any relevant ideas for gaining access into the manor so he and Liam will keep an eye out for anyone that may have stumbled upon the party's presence. [spot +5 listen +5 for Liam if, in case, you needed them.]

The gate is a bit higher than the wall, with an elaborate top that looks if anything more difficult to bypass than the wall's iron railing.

Guardian slaps the gate, to no malevolent effect. Contemplating his chances of battering down the gate or wall, he wishes more adamantine had been used in his construction. While in a purer form that wonderous metal can slice through steel with ease, Guardians fists do not provide that advantage.

With the grappling hook, climbing the wall is trivial. The railing still presents a problem, however.

(Anyone able to make the spellcraft check can recognize the effect of an arcane lock spell on the gate, and recall that to the owner of the estate the gate might open to a mere touch.)

(I may be unable to post for about a week! Sorry for the delay.)
