I think there are not enough of a particular type of feats: the type that grant very powerful abilities but with a whole host of pre-requisites so that only high-level fighters can take them.

This would make fighters more interesting at high levels and make that 20th-level feat slot count for something.

I agree with FireLance.

When you sit there as an 18th level fighter, with two feats to pick and choose, what is there? (Having already taken 15 feats) You have to go back and look at feats and are required to branch out into a new area.

There really should be exceptional feats even at these levels for ultra specialists. I'd prefer this path than the mad dash for PrC's that provide all sorts of twinked out cheese. Especially in insane combinations

Thus the ultimate Fighter-Archer would choose two more archery feats. The Pugilist some monk-style feat (these exist, at least. Not always so good, but they do exist), the tank some feat to improve AC or damage even further.

Voted: I use only core rule feats and feats from select publishers or writers.

I've only used a few feats from The Book of Hallowed Might because the Paladin had a cool idea for some oaths and so the Oath Feats were a perfect fit. Otherwise, I hardly ever use non-core feats, even from the splats.
