True 20 Martial Arts style feat (now with NPCs)

So since the true 20 rules are so tight... Any chance of you doing...I dunno... Any M&M2 Supers or Superagent Style stuff either for Superlink or for True 20?

What can i say...I am such a fanboy!

Walt

I have gotten approval for 4 superlink books. One is a setting, three are NPC compilations.

When I can say more, I will... uh... say more.

And an internal style.

Hsing-I Kung Fu
Martial Arts Style
Prerequisite: Canny Dodge (Wis)
Basic Training: Sense Motive +1
Advanced Training:
Improved Initiative (+6 to initiative), Improved Trip (+3 to trip opponents)
Internal/External: Internal

Explanation of terms (evolved): Basic training is the immediate benefit, advanced training are the improved feats offered through the style (though they still have to be chosen as normal feats).

Internal styles have their attack rolls modified by Wisdom, but receive no damage bonus or penalty to unarmed attacks due to Strength.

Edit: I am also leaning (as in more or less decided unless I hear something to the contrary) that feats listed in a style's advanced training will be available regardless of role.

Hsing-i is one of those weird styles as it is very linear which is a contrast to most internal styles which favor circular motions and evasions...

Very cool...

That's a really good idea. It increases the utility of the base style feats even more and probably won't cause any problems.

I'm am curious to see how the more "complete" styles (i.e, those that teach hand/foot strikes, locks&holds, sweeps&throws, and weapons) are handled.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Chuck is also curious to see how those will be handled. :D

I've converted styles with throws, grapples and weapons. Of course, if you're asking how a SINGLE style that incorporates all that would work, it really wouldn't.

You'd be taking multiple styles. So if you wanted to be a Wing Chun, you'd use the Wing Chun style to represent the unarmed component of the training, and standard feats (Weapon Training, Attack Focus, Two-Weapon Fighting) to represent the armed component.

If you were really dedicated, you could select an armed martial art and call it something else, such as "Wing Chun Weapons Training 102", and thus get access to some improved weapon feats.

The rules will still explain how to build your own styles as well, so the flexibility to differ from my takes on a style or to create variants will still be there.
