trying to figure out my RL alignment

Gee, I've never heard that excuse before...... ;)

Good thing practically everyone is better than the average. We can all speed.

Why is this thread in Rules?

Wait a minute. You think it's acceptable to rape in order to win a war? How does that win a war? Why is this comment on these forums, much less in the Rules forum?

I honestly think war should be as destructive and disgusting and revolting as either side can make it. My reasoning for this is that it SHOULD be the absolute last resort and you should play hard and win fast. Hopefully so you won't have to do it again for a very long time.

Ir was in the rules forum because I was asking about alignment rules and it was there as an example of the kind of act I believe to be reprehensible normally but also to illustrate that (according to my world view) in war all is fair

Loitering is more due to I just don't notice or care. If I am standing around talking to friends and not blocking an aisle, entrance or exit I don't think it is a big deal.

I would go so far as to say the not wanting to sort thing is due to arrogance at best and possibly irresponsible.

The view on war is confusing and disheartening (I figured people would have learned after World War II).

And, relying on Penn and Teller for your views on recycling seems a bit thin to me; while I am certain that both have a strong background in economics and environemntal engineering, they may have not taken all of the long term ramifications of not recycling into effect.

Second vote for Chaotic Dumb (sorry struck a nerve)

Ummm. well, if the most chaotic thing you do is mix the wet/dry garbage... I'd say you need to get out more... ;)

Still LG, there's still room for pretty tame civil disobedience and still call yourself Lawful

as far as civil disobedience goes... There's room for a WHOLE LOT of that and sill remain Lawful

Non violent protest against unjust and capricious laws is still a Lawful act

I firmly believe that the myriad of real world personalities and nuances cannot be reflected by D&D's rather comic-book like Alignment system.

You can make basic assumptions like Hitler was Evil and Mother Theresa was Good, but beyond such polar extremes, Alignment cannot easily capture a real person's true personality.

For myself, I can be extreme ordered and law abiding one day (i.e. Lawful), and very anarchic and anti-establishment (i.e. Chaotic) the next, depending on circumstances, my mood etc.

Someone who is a devoted family man and pillar of the community (i.e. Good) can snap one day and murder his family (i.e. Evil).

Alignment arguably works as a game concept, but I really don't think it can refelct the real world.

Just from the garbage example, you seem to feel that there is a way things should be, that shouldn't inconvenience people minding their own business, and you found a loophole. I'd say LN, emphasizing a personal code more than rigid adherence to external authority.
