  • This lair map was inspired by the gnome lair sample map from the 1981 D&D Expert set.
  • The sections marked with a 'A' represent concealed observation points. These sections are hidden at surface level to allow observation in all directions.
  • Area 1 a) and the sections marked with the letter A have stairs leading up.
  • The row of dots at areas 1 a), 27, and 33 a) have gates/bars.
  • Areas 1 b), 3, and 10 have hidden traps.
  • Areas 9, 26, 28, and 30 have tapestries.
  • Area 10 has a pool/fountain.
  • Areas 15 and 33 b) have statues.
  • Area 20 has open pits.
  • Area 24 has a lightning bolt trap when the eastern door is opened.
  • Area 33 a) has two fireball traps that must be dodged before one can reach the dais.
  • Area 33 b) is a dais.
  • Area 34 has cliff faces. Area 3 is at a higher elevation than area 34, and area 34 is at a higher elevation than areas 35 to 39.
  • Area 36 b) is a natural pool of water.

  • This is a stand-alone dungeon map that has three levels on one page. There's an upper level [areas 2 a), 2 b), 19 to 36], a mid level [areas 2 c) to 18], and a lower cavern level (areas 37 to 50). The cavern level goes off the page for potential expansion.
  • Area 1 has stairs leading up.
  • Areas 2 a) and 2 b) are at a higher elevation than area 2 c). The blue line represents the ledge.
  • Areas 2 c), 7 a), and 15 have hidden pits.
  • Areas 2 c), 7 a), and 35 have columns/pillars.
  • Area 2 d) is a false door. Perhaps attempting to open this door, causes the door of 2 e) to open, releasing the lightning bolt trap.
  • Area 2 e) has a lightning bolt trap when the door is opened.
  • Area 3 has a pool/fountain.
  • Area 5 has a fire ball trap when the door is opened. The lever to disable this trap can be found in area 8.
  • Areas 9, 12, and 19 b) have arrow slits in the walls and heavy crossbows ready to fire behind them.
  • Areas 10, 18, and 21 have statues.
  • Areas 13 and 23 have open pits. These pits are the access points to the cavern level. The pit in area 37 is 70 ft. deep and the entrance to area 37 is at the bottom of the pit. The pit in area 23 is 90 ft. deep (with the entrance to 39 being at the bottom).
  • Areas 19 a) and 34 have tapestries.

  • Areas 4, 21, and 40 have daises.
  • The outdoors section of the previous level and areas 4 & 21 have statues.
  • Areas 7, 20, 23, 26, 40, 41, and 42 have pillars/columns.
  • Area 28 has a pool/fountain.
  • Areas 31 and 37 have tapestries.
  • Area 30 has an altar.
