This isn't map related but I got a cool postcard that I had to share. It has Elmore art, the Lake Geneva postmark, and one of the 50th Anniversary D&D stamps. It's a hat trick of D&D-ness. ;)

So cool!
I was thinking ".92 sure is expensive for a post card!" and then remembered you are not based in the US. I love the elmore art - and I wish the magic user luck v the necromancer and his 3 skellies...

Also - Tim have you ever done any maps of a dungeon where a landslide has exposed some of the levels to the air?
I know I've done a few maps where there was a large chasm that exposed sections of the map to the elements. Like these:
Friday Freebie Maps | Paratime Design | Old School RPGs | Cartography
Friday Freebie Maps | Paratime Design | Old School RPGs | Cartography

I've also done a building map where the ground on one side of the building had dropped ripping the building in half (with each half at a different elevation as a result) but I can't find it. I lost some of my older work when that computer died several computer systems ago. I might have to revisit this idea in the future.

Cheers,
Tim

Here's the Monday Blues #136 map. Click to enlarge.

Map Details:
  • Grid Size: 38x49 10 ft. Squares or 76x98 5 ft. squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1367x1715 px
  • This week's map is the first two levels of a building. Next week will be the 2nd upper level and rooftop.
  • Who's Grimlar you're wondering... in my campaign he was a merchant/mage who did biological experimentation on his (usually unwilling) test subjects. Naturally it is up to the DM as to who he is. The versions of the maps with no numbers/labels allows the DM to ignore the Grimlar reference and go with their own substitution.
  • The double white lines on the outer walls represent windows.
  • Areas 1 and 25 have daises/steps that lead to the entrances of the ground level.
  • Areas 1, 16, 17, and 26 have statues.
  • Area 2 has columns/pillars.
  • The stairs at areas 7, 16, and 38 have stairs leading up.
  • The stairs at areas 21 and 26, and 43 have stairs leading down.
  • Areas 23 and 33 have trap doors in their ceilings.
  • Areas 32 and 35 b) have tapestries.
  • The row of dots at area 34 a) represent bars/gates.
  • Area 47 has a trap door in the floor.
