D&D General Turgenev's Friday Freebie Maps

Here's the October 11th 2024 Friday Freebie map. This is a stand-alone rift/canyon map. Click to enlarge.

Map Details:
  • Grid Size: 42x62 10’ Squares or 84x124 5’ Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1261x1611
  • This is a stand-alone rift/canyon map with a river running through it. The river (area 30) and the flanking cliff faces are open to the elements (but it could easily be an enclosed cave network with an underground river).
  • The black lines with grey strips represent natural steps (the grey strip is on the downward side of the step). I've included downward slope arrows on the steps to show the slope.
  • The shaded area with a dotted rim in Area 1 represents a hole in the cave ceiling.
  • Areas 2 b), 8 a), and 15 b) have statues.
  • Areas 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16, 19, and 21 are cliff faces (that are a higher elevation than the connecting river).
  • Area 7 has a rickety bridge.
  • Area 8 b) is a natural bridge with a small tunnel to allow the water to flow through.
  • Area 11 b) has a pool/fountain.
  • Area 15 d) has a magic circle.
  • Area 30 is the river (yes, it's listed twice on the map - it's to show the continuity between the top half and the bottom half of the river).

Depending on what I built here, I'd probably populate 29 with a watch outpost that had a concealed view port out to area 8, and maybe up and down the river too...

Here's the October 25th 2024 Friday Freebie map. This is a stand-alone dungeon map. Click to enlarge.

Map Details:
  • Grid Size: 42x62 10’ Squares or 84x124 5’ Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1261x1611
  • This is a stand-alone dungeon map.
  • Area 1 has tapestries.

  • Area 2 has a pool/fountain.
  • Areas 8, 20, 24, and 31 have statues.
  • Areas 8 b) and 20 have a daises.
  • Area 8 b) has fake sarcophagi.
  • Area 9 has the real sarcophagi.
  • Areas 17 and 33 have open pits.
  • Areas 21 a) and 30 have hidden pits.
  • Areas 21 b) to 21 i) represent niches in the walls. These niches are at a higher elevation (min. of 10 ft.) than the room's floor level. I can also picture these niches being at different heights from one another. Perhaps areas 21 b), d), f), and h) are at a height of 20 ft while the remaining niches are at a height of 10 ft.
  • Area 32 has a large pit with a cage over it. The ladder can be removed and the cage sealed. This large pit is used to hold captives/test subjects.
  • I envision area 33 has being a laboratory for experimentation. The open pits are exceptionally deep and are used to dispose of any test subjects' bodies.

There are so few (almost none!) maps with railway carts. Great map again
