Turning Undead is Counter-Productive

I despise clerics for thier willingness to submitt to an authority figure who would only protect his flock by granting a cruddy turning ability and a handfull of lame spells. Don't even get me started on the cleric's granted domain powers . . . .

Handful? They get ALL THE SPELLS on their list. Wizards and Sorcerors, heck, even Bards can't touch that.

IIRC, Sean Reynolds ran an analysis of Turn Undead in his website, but I can't search for it right now.

But yeah, TU from PHB is wonky, the Complete Divine variant rocks on toast. Even WotC seems to believe that, since they included it in Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. And there's a spell in, iirc, Five Nations, that allows clerics who use the PHB version to use the CD version for a time.
