Turning Undead: Radial or Focused effect?

First Post
We had a problem during one of our sessions which we thought should be solved before the next session. Does a turn eminate out from the caster causing a radial effect up to 60 ft? Or is the turning spell focused on an area towards which the caster is facing?
Example: Cleric holds sigul towards undead banishing them from the earth.
Or..
Cleric Raises Sigul above head smiting all undead in 60 ft. vacinity regardless of clerics orientation.
Thanks!

As far as I can see the cleric's orientation has no effect upon the effects of turning. Turning affects closest turnable undead first regardless the cleric's facing as long as there is line of effect between the the cleric and the undead.

Radial effect. The Turning rules specify "the losest undead",a nd do not describe an area for the effect (a line, a cone,a half-circle, or whatever). Treat it as an Emanation centered on the Cleric.
