TURTLEDOME! (Battle Bone!) -- Part 2

Round 5 (continued)...

Emral steps away from the green disc. He hears a sucking noise. The disc folds in upon itself, becoming a popping, sizzling pool of blackness.

Emral hurls his Chromatic Orb at the Bone-tinant.

The orb bursts in a kaliedoscope of colors and energies. As it fades, the Bone-tinant laughs--UNHARMED!

"Oh, that's not good!"

"Them's the breaks of Wild Magic, Pete. Undead are immune to poison."

Emral eats the 'Go Pill'. [+1 speed, +1 to AC and reflex, +1 basic attack until EONT]

Emral flings his dagger, but the Bone-tinant slaps it out of the sky. The blade returns to Emral's hand.

The BONESWARM! charges Vaunea. [Standard: CHARGE! -- 1d20+8+2+1=15 v. Vaunea's AC.] Somehow, the minotaur weathers the attack.

The Helter Skeleton sings...
We will,
We will,
BONE YOU!

The other Legionnaires and crowd joins in...
We will,
We will,
BONE YOU!

[Minor Action: 'Work the Crowd' 1d20+11+2=32]

The Legion's Approvalometer (tm) dings and GOES UP ONE STEP!

The Helter Skeleton bangs a tune on its ribcage, still singing...
Emral, you're a moron, a lame, smirking retard.
The Legion of Bone will smash your face!
You've got fire on your head,
We'll make you dead,
And shoot your corpse into outer space!

The tune attempts to insinuate itself into Emral's consciousness, but the sorcerer is able to resist the urge to snap his fingers and tap his feet to the throbbing beat. [Standard: Cacophony -- 1d20+7=9 v. Emral's Will. Miss!]

The Helter Skeleton continues with the chorus. Everyone, including Pete and Hobbs (the commentators), joins in...
We will,
We will,
BONE YOU!

[Substitute Move for Minor: 'Work the Crowd' -- Diplomacy: 1d20+11=18]

The green skeletons, giddy with desire, run towards the globs of darkness. [Double Move, Run!]

"STAY ON THE WALL!" screams the Bone-tinant, but they ignore him.

Three of the Legionnaires dive into the blackness (at O16). With a slurp, the globule vanishes, leaving a four-armed, maniacal skeleton wielding two axes made from sharpened shoulder blades.

BONE-ZERKER!

Two Legionnaires dive into the blackness at L13. It grows in size.

A green discs pops into existence.

A successful save ends the harmful side effects.

[sblock=Approvalometer Tokens][sblock=Generic Tokens (x1)]A party member can spend a generic token to do one of the following...
  • Get Up! -- spend a Healing Surge as a free action (even if unconscious or dead).
  • Get Going! -- gain an extra action, as if having spent an action point.
  • Do It Again! -- regain the use of an encounter or daily power that you have already expended.
  • Try Harder! -- re-roll a failed attack roll with a +1 bonus.
Spending a Token of Favor is a free action. It can only be done on your turn. Once used, tokens are gone until the next battle.[/sblock]

Finnian moves to take on the Helter Skeleton and the minions at his side. The ranger measures his prey carefully and focuses his attention on this new leader.

He unleashes a brutal attack with his sword and pounds into the Helter Skeleton with the Sword of Five Elements. He follows quickly with a blow from the hammer in his other hand, but the fury of his initial swing has thrown him off balance. The hammer hums through the air as it crashes down, but misses wide of the skeleton and crashes into the floor.

Jaws of the Wolf:
Sword: 25 vs AC, 19 damage
Hammer: 10 vs AC, 14 damage

Hunter's Quarry / Lethal Hunter: 6 damage

Finnian now turns to the minions next to him and deftly moves from a swing of his sword at one to a blow of his hammer at the other.

Twin Strike:
25 vs AC, 7 damage (N10)
13 vs AC, 5 damage (M10)

//Hey fellas,

I'm in a pickle. My computer with all the maps, stats, and stuff has gone belly up. It's off for warranty work. I'm going to try and transfer some data before she's shipped, but it may be a couple of days before anything useful takes place.//

//Thanks! I've a buddy that gave me a tool to extract data directly from hard drives using the UPC (or whatever the heck those things are called). Should be able to pull everything over onto my old PC while my new PC is fixed.//

//bummer! Hmmm... make sure your computer recorded Emral's rippling abs and pectorals, and the piles of magic items listed on them that you forgot from the stress & strain of losing your computer. Sometimes that happens, and is awful. I think he had, um, Stormbringer, um, equipped. And a bazooka of, um, awesome victory +4. And (while I'm at it) a horse named Whittiger, who could appear at will and whisk him away (whoosh), no rolls needed. (whoosh).

and now for something completely different.

//Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend and looking forward to getting the next round going soon. As an aside, I've been playing D&D Encounters at a local game shop and it's been pretty fun. I have a Pacifist Cleric, which has proven quite popular in this sort of encounter grind format. I felt like I almost knew what I was doing from hanging out here on the forums and learning 4E from you guys.//
