Taylar continues to fight with bludgeons and will manipulate waylines to attack the Mind of his opponent. Unable to speak Centrin, he will motion to the people to fight for their village.
A second soldier joins the first on both Taylar and Adisakti, but it quickly becomes evident that it will be too little too late. Most of the townsfolk seem too afraid to be bolstered by Taylar's encouragement, but some take it to heart and move to get involved.
Taylar counters the assault of his first opponent and then lays into him with his second bludgeon. The weapon sounds like a thunder clap when it strikes. That soldier is rendered unconscious. The second one strikes his left spaulder with a sword but causes no physical damage.
Adisakti seems to become more difficult to observe. He counters his opponent's strike and sticks him with his hunting knife. He follows up with his shortsword. With the addition of Raven Elk's mystical assault, that soldier is incapacitated. The second soldier only manages to ineffectively hit Adisakti's left bracer.
The 8 remaining soldiers, collectively, do not yet realize the gravity of the situation and continue to fight. Raven Elk still has not been noticed.

Raven Elk sees the effectiveness of the divided tactics when facing an inferior foe. He will keep his distance, hoping to remain unnoticed. He will continue to split his mystical assaults between aiding Taylar and Adisakti.
Each having effectively eliminated his first opponent, a third engages Taylar and Adisakti, keeping them doubled. Taylar blocks the sword of his first and clubs him with a bludgeon. The force of the blow does not transmit through the armor, but the accompanying thump, in addition to the mystical toxicity of Raven Elk, dazes him. The third opponent strikes Taylar's spaulder but cannot contact flesh.
Adisakti bends chemical waylines to increase his athleticism. He counters the first assault of his second opponent, sticking him with a hunting knife and following with a sword strike, causing significant injury. The third opponent only contacts his bracer.
The townsfolk manage to overpower two of the remaining guards. The six guards capable of combat are now split between Taylar and Adisakti. They are unaware that the townsfolk have rebelled.

Taylar continues to strike with bludgeons and manipulates waylines to attack his opponent's Mind. In Markidian he says, "There's no way we can allow you to leave this village. Don't bother to surrender."
Adisakti tunes to the battle, allowing his body to rect as it has been trained without consciously thinking about it. He uses all six senses simultaneously, sight, hearing, smell, feeling, taste, and the unexplainable affinity to the interwoven waylines. He fully intends to kill the Citadel soldiers.
The surprise of the words communicated in Markidian are negated by the heat of battle. They seemed as if they would have a negative effect on the soldiers, but Taylar is fighting against three. He successfully blocks the first sword but his armor takes the brunt of the second and most especially the third. A bit of bad luck prevents him from physically reposting, but the magical thump dampens the second opponent's senses even further.
Switching to aid Adisakti, Raven Elk bends chemical waylines to cause some damage to one of the three opponents.
Adisakti attacks his newest arrival but is able to effectively counter the attack of his second, since it was significantly slowed. The first falls with a stick of the hunting knife. The third takes a small cut from the saber. Despite his success, the blade of the third standing opponent penetrates the bearskin tunic, causing some irritating damage.
The townsfolk secure the soldiers they have subdued. The real fight, which lies with the Outliers, continues.

Seeing that Taylar has more standing opponents than Adisakti, Raven Elk decides to take more direct involvement. He readies his spear and runs in to assist Taylar, manipulating chemical waylines to dampen the mind of those opponents.
Before Raven Elk manages to close to melee, Taylar, aided by some serious luck, brains one of the soldiers with enough force to crack his skull. That soldiers goes down immediately, not to be recovering. Fortune being with him, Taylar successfully defends against his opponents, as well. When Raven Elk arrives, it becomes two on one in favor of the Outliers and the soldier is quickly killed.
Being down to a single opponent, the soldier is no mach for Adisakti. He counters the assault sticking him with his knife, then finishes him with his own saber strike.
Being extremely limited in verbal communication with the townsfolk. gesture is used to convince some of them to help carry the bodies outside of the village, including to two live soldiers who are bound. The townsfolk are sent away with the understanding that the Outliers are not leaving just yet.
The soldiers are dispatched, stripped of their belongings, and left for the animals of the region to dismember. Adisakti says, "While I think we should keep these weapons, I think we should burn the armor and bucklers. What say you?"
