TV - Blade: The Series -- 2006.07.05 SPOILERS

Hand of Evil

Hero
Epic
Okay, the pilot was weak but this week's show seemed to move a good bit more and have a better flow, but still do not like the Blade character.

We find out that vampire ash is a major drug on the street, with nasty side-effects. We see more of the turning process, nightmares vamps go through. More of the Blade vampire biology (not undead and still have beating hearts). And the number of houses.

Blade wants to find out more about Fritz. Fritz wants to go ather Blade. The consel wants a project status report and proof. And the cop vampire is loose.

Really a lot was going on in this one, which kept the Blade character off the screen, this was not a bad thing.

Well, we knew about the vampire ash from the pilot, but get more information on the effects (I think after I bit off just one of my own fingers I'd try and quit.) However, having the drug dealers as a separate group of antagonists for both Blade and House Chton is a good plot complication. Originally I was thinking the ash was coming from the failed experiments with the vaccine. What else is going on with that, the way Marcuss warned Krista against it?

So far, though, Blade himself is almost more of a plot device than a protagonist. Fewest lines per onscreen time than any other character.

Hehe. Why do we need a spinoff named Krista? She already sees the most screentime. ;)

And how did Blade get to be a crappy fighter? His fight scenes just annoy me.

Exactly - despite the name of the show, the intention apparently was to focus on her, not Blade

When they cast a rapper instead of a martial artist as him

Sad, but true.

Did anyone else think that him fighting the other dude in that caged area was crappy? When that happened, I didn't really care who won...

Because everyone knows dhampir's have maad rap skillz!!! Seriously though this hurts me. I was expecting a show to fill the void in my life left with the completion of Roswell season 2. (I'll never forgive Jason Katims for making Tess an evil bitch.) but instead I got Blade which seem like a d-list martial arts garlic ad.

fights have been very sorry, the guy does not have the grace that Wes had, plus the different body types, Wes had a quarterback/wide receiver/swimmer body, this guy is a lineman or heavy wieght boxer.
