TV: Supernatural and Heroes

Forgive me if this topic has been done already and feel free to send me off to pre-existing old threads.

What system(s) respectively would you choose to base a campaign using a similar model to the TV shows Supernatural and Heroes?

I would use HERO systems for both. Both would be on the heroic scale. But with Heroes you would let people take some of the cooler abilites.

For Heroes, Mutants and masterminds.

For Supernatural, I'm not sure. Possibilities are d20Modern (with third party suppliments), True20, GURPS, Mutants and Masterminds or possibly even the original WoD Hunters Hunted(it's been a long time since I have seen this so I don't recall how well it would work).

I would use Buffy/Angel/Army of Darkness for Supernatural. That system is explicity designed to tell almost indentical stories. The Buffy Revised book even has a pre-fab character that works almost perfectly for Dean.

I don't think I'd use Mutants and Masterminds for Heroes, especially for the Default rules; it's far more "four-color" than Heroes depicts. I'd almost use either d20 Modern with a super-powered add-on, or Call of Cthulhu (either d20 or BRP) because of the amount of DEATH associated with the show.

Marvel Superheroes for Heroes. Though I expect it could be done well with Mutants and masterminds as well.

For Supernatural, I'd either use core World of Darkness (original or 2.0, doesn't matter much - but not Hunters, because the main characters don't have a lot of supernatural power themsleves), or Alternity using the Dark Matter setting.

Right now I'm helping playtest a new version of the old Chill role-playing game. The designer has mentioned that Supernatural would be very representative of a typical campaign for the system.
