TWF, Ambidex, Guns

Dragonstar also has a feat for two gun shooting. The only restriction is that both guns must be light.

Edit ---> And it's called Two Gun Shooting, oddly. Works the exact same as twf, except both guns must be light. You can extrapolate the other 3 feats (Improved, Greater, Perfect) from there.

FWIW :

Sypcraft lists Two-Weapon Fighting as a Basic Combat Feat, which means it can be used for melee or ranged. (So the Sage's ruleing does not apply there.)

Personaly, for DnD, I would say that Rapid shot would allow you to fire two ranged weapons (one in each hand) since it would allow someone to fire a bow twice in one round.

Two weapon fighting does not allow for two ranged weapons, only two MELEE weapons. This means rangers are no more powerful at first level.

If you want to rule rapid shot allows you to do two ranged weapons, I don't think it is in the rules but it seems to make sense, assuming you can have the weapons set up.

I personally feal there should be a separate two gun feat to go with ambidex, the way two weapon fighting does.

Does that means I can fire two arrows from two bows? :p

Technically, two-weapon fighting is restricted to melee weapons in Wizards' D&D. But Wizards' Star Wars do allow two-weapon fighting with ranged weapon (despite your blaster's multifire or autofire setting, you can only make one off-hand attack).

Recently, in a discussion with Mr. Charles Ryan in the Wizards' d20 Modern board he is extending two-weapon fighting rules for modern firearms.

So if you guys want to stick with the technical answer, fine by me. But I'm sure some of us DMs are more lenient.

OBTW, Rapid Shot will not work unless you already have a bundle of thrown weapons in hand or a bandolier. If not, you'll need Quick Draw to grab other daggers from their sheath, especially when you have them tuck elsewhere on your person, such as in the belt behind you, or in your boots.

I know that TWF does not reduce penalties when firing crossbows, but would you allow getting the extra attack from ITWF (assuming of course that the character had some way of reloading the crossbow fast enough)?

Just to throw a little gasoline on the fire

An interesting point: In the July/August Dugeon/Polyhedron, the d20 mini game was Thunderball Rally, which is meant to be a sort of preview of D20 modern.

It has the feat Two-Weapon Fighting, and it allows fighting with two melee weapons, two firearms, or one of each.

And when I asked Rich Redman (the Thunderball Rally author/designer) if I could use Double-Tap or Burst Fire with two pistols, he says YES (of course, you need an auto-pistol that can make autofire attack to use Burst Fire).

(The post can be found in Wizards' d20 General Forum.)

It was also confirmed by Charles Ryan in Wizards' d20 Modern Forum.

It's possible but you won't find such a feat. Even Rapid Reload allow you to use that feat only once per round.
