I'm curious what does the feat Power Critical do and why would it be so hot?

1/day you can have an attack be an auto threat. You still need to confirm the threat. It only applies to one weapon like weapon focus. I don't like it as a feat. A once a day ability that may or may or work is not my cup of tea.

So you don't need to roll to see if you hit the baddy AC but you only need to see if you confirm it's a critical?

No, you still need to hit with the attack roll. And you have to choose to use the feat before you make the attack roll.

Man does that sound pretty useless..I said pretty.

So I was wondering what would be the feats to take if you wanted to be a pure fighter and only use a 2H weapon (Great Sword)?

Two Handed Power Strike from Quint Fighter

Whoa...

Boy does that sound like a really good feat to have!

I wanted to know what would be some good feats to take that are just in the PHB/WoTC splatbooks for a pure fighter w/Greatsword?

I'm looking to not just walk up to something and kill it in a round or two (I almost want to take remain consious or those Imp. trip, Imp. sunder etc. feats.

Thanks for any advice!

Take PA, Sunder, and Improved Sunder. Improved sunder is nasty. Technically, you can't trip with a 2H sword, but I know many DM (myself for instance) who allow it.

Why not?

Why is it that you can't trip an opponent with a 2H? Because it says make a melee touch attack?

When is it a good idea to attempt to trip an opponent? Or not to try and trip an opponent for that matter.
