Two haste weapons

Hong, I applaud you. :)

That said, I still think the loss of stacking between Improve Crit and keen was an overcorrection. Something in between would have worked, too. :)

Hyp: How is that pronounced? Is the "g" hard, soft, or does is just nasalize the "n"?

IMC we changed the Vorpal function to, instead to decapitate, to increase your crit multiplier by 1 increment (a Vorpal long sword would have a threat range 19-20 and crit multiplier x3).

This way you remove the instakill function, but still make it attractive.

Hmm. Increase crit multiplier by a factor of 1.5... though that makes axes and so worse... ok then, +1 for *2 multiplier weapons, +2 (e.g. *5) for *3 weapons, and +3 for *4 weapons? Too difficult to be funny and I do think it's not balanced either :D

That would fit the pattern of Improved Critical/Keen effects - essentially doubling.

But yeah, a 19-20/x7 crit on a Keen Vorpal Scythe sounds... freaky.

Well then stop whining hong.

Please to stop stealing my schtick. ThaADVANCEnks!

Sneak attack is one of the easiest abilities in the game to negate, this has nothing to do with crits.

Make up your mind. Are you saying that the game is designed to nerf rogues, or not?

Nor does it really hamper the rogues, they have lots of other things going for them.

And the guys with keen + improved crit have lots of other things going for them as well. Your point is?

Now, do you actually have any numbers to backup any claims?

You first. Tell me all about the monsters in the MM that are designed to nerf rogues.

I am guessing you meant to say sneak attack with the last part there, not immunity to crits.
Yes.
Sneak attack is easy, just stand in the shade. You are immune. Along with any number of hundreds of things.
Can still be negated with darkvision or true seeing.
No, the core SHOULD NOT be written to try to fix problems that third parties might make.
We agree to disagree then.
Some random thing saying, 'crits arent rare enough' just isnt useful.
I don't know about useful, but it's a question of style. Crits should not be so commonplace that you'll have a crit every other hit (unless you're lucky with the dice).

Thats no fun for anyone involved or spectating. (Except for those forum trolls.)

which reminds me.. that would be a funny Template to make: Forum Troll. Give it literacy, Bluff, intimidate, and Sense motive. maye an "inspire rage in others" ability. Any takers?

I wouldn't give it real literacy. Merely something that passes for literacy in bad light. That's because things like "ROUGZZ R TEH SUXORSS !!!!1!11" isn't really the product of literacy. :D

Hm... sounds a bit weak for a +5 enhancement. Did you change it otherwise?

Personally, I go for the "crit = coup de crace" version of vorpal. Or maybe the additional x4 damage multiplier, which is force damage.

Take:
8 * +X Returning Daggers of Speed. (Holy? Flaming?)
Quickdraw.
Close combat shot PrC ability.
As many dual wield feats as you can eat.
Add a light dusting of sneak attack.
Precise shot wouldn't hurt.

Stab, Throw (with 'speed' attack), Quickdraw. Rinse, Repeat.

8 melee + 8 ranged attacks every round.

Yay! I'll kill all the baddies, get the power ups AND win the game. :)
