There is some debate over whether Tyrannosaurs had a septic bite, due to the deep serrations of their teeth holding decaying flesh. I can see a slow walking T-Rex with sudden bursts of running to attack prey. The sprinting T-Rex would use a lot of calories for an attack, so a septic bite may be a backup to ensure a meal days later if prey gets away.

It's one of those things we may never know. After all it was only recently that we figured out that Komodo dragons kill with venom, not bacteria as once thought. So maybe we had venomous pack hunting Tyrannosaurs? :eek:
