UA Recharge for spell-likes

I'm thinking of applying recharge magic to spell-like abilities so they recharge like spells under the UA recharge magic variant
I'm thinking of this for a game integrating recharge magic.

This increases the uses per day of spell like abilities but not really the number that can be used in a combat.

I'm trying to think of how to do 1/day vs 3/day spell like abilites, possibly with each use per day counting as an independent recharge so a 3/day power could be used 3 times in a row then having to wait for each to recharge.

Any issues I should be thinking of balancewise?

Operating under the assumption that you expect your playes to acquire SLA's from somewhere (as for most monsters 3/day pretty much means 3/encounter anyway), allowing SLA's to recharge as if they were spells is probably fair if you're going to use Recharge Magic anyway.

There are probably specific instances where this is going to be a problem; but I don't forsee anything worse than the 1-level Clr and Sor dips you're likely to see in a Recharge Magic game anyway.

One PC has archmage greater arcana spell like greater teleports 2/day which he gave up a 7th and 5th level slot for.

This would mean he could do 2 GTs in a row or short span of time, three if he had a nonillusion specialist slot free and prepared the spell, before the 4 hour recharge kicked in.

I wouldn't have a problem with gnomish cantrips being used repeatedly all day either, though nobody is a gnome in the party.

I am using a lot of outsiders, mostly tieflings and devils, as NPCs and opponents. I don't think there will be problems with devils using recharge magic, but I wanted to check first.

My first question would be: Does that bother you?

If the answer is no, then no problem.

If the answer is yes, there are two solutions:

1) Stack the recharge times.
If he GT's two rounds in a row, the first recharges in four hours, the second four hours after that.

2) Change how n/day modifies the recharge rate.
If the SLA is on the general recharge list, subtract n-1 catetories from it's recharge time, probably based on the Wizard list.

i.e., A 13HD character with a 7th level general-recharge SLA usable 1-day would recharge the spell in 1d6+1 rounds. 2/day would be d4+1 rounds, 3/day d4 rounds and so on.

If the spell is not on the General Recharge list, divide the recharge time by n.

i.e., Greater Teleport has a recharge time of 4hrs. If it were available 2/day as an SLA, 4/2=2hrs. Similarly, Bulls Strength has a 5min recharge time. If it were a 3/day SLA that would reduce the time to 5min / 3 = 2min (17 rounds if you really want to get picky).

The one thing you're going to have to watch is powerful 1/day SLA's (probably recharging at 1d6+1 rounds) being (potentially) available 2-3 times in the same combat. (Ex: a Glabrezu suddenly having access to Power Word Stun multiple times a combat)

OTOH, the party should have equivalent spells recharging at an equivalent rate, so it should balance out...
