The in-hand slot that isn't defined anywhere? :)

Actually, it is defined as far as costing goes - as a virtual slot (i.e., you have two of them). There's a designer post about it somewhere, if only I can find it.

The post mentioned how the unofficial WotC terms for the slots are "chakras," if that's any help.

EDIT:

Ahah. Here it is. Sean K Reynolds, of course.

Hands as Chakra: Although not a chakra space listed in the DMG, an item that must be held in a hand to be activated counts as a chakra point. This is because you can only have two hand-chakra items active at once, and to switch to another hand-chakra item you'd have to spend an action to do so (just as if you wanted to put on a different amulet).

Now, this was originally written for 3.0, but I believe it still holds pretty valid.

But an Ettin only has one hat slot, one amulet slot, one lenses slot... unless he takes the Extra Slot feat from Savage Species.

A Marilith only has one bracers slot and two rings slots... unless she takes the Extra Slot feat.

But that same Marilith can use six items that require being held in the hand, without any extra feat required, because she can hold six items in hand, and because 'held in the hand' isn't a slot.

The "You can only have two hand-chakra items active at once" Sean states isn't a rule. It's a natural effect of having only two hands, but it's not because the items are slotted.

You have eight fingers, but you can only use two rings. That's a slot (well, two of them).

You have three pairs of arms, but you can only use one pair of gloves. That's a slot.

You can use as many 'held in the hand' items as you have hands available... that's not a slot, the way the others are defined.

So that rod/weapon I was getting at then?............

Are we in agreeance with Rystil?
I think even the few people that are arguing for a hand chakra slot would agree that you should be able to get the item for the price I quoted because it takes two hands, and certainly everyone else agrees. And when Hypersmurf agrees with someone, they're usually right. Heh, after those lovely Githzerai Soulknives I made for Morrus a few weeks ago, I'd like to make sure you get the weapon you want :D.

That was you eh? Well I suppose they didn't bother me and it was REALLY funny watching Ozric and Angmar become dumb and dumber!!! :D

I didn't expect the casters to let them live through the round that they found out that they attacks deal ability score damage (I figured they could all hit the cleric and make sure he didn't cast any pesky healing spells, and then they would all get fried immediately), but apparently that isn't how it happened. :D
