aha! i knew this one was coming up sooner or later. ;) i haven't actually had an FR thread yet, but i've been slowly whittling them away on other threads for some time. :)

Glyphimhor, Demon Lord of Orcusgate

Echohawk,

I accidentally hit "edit" rather than "reply" and had to rebuild your initial post. My apologies!

It took me about 20 minutes to fix it, when all I wanted to tell you was that the reed snake and dung snake can be found in Serpent Kingdoms. :heh:

As long as you didn't have to check all the Forgotten Realms products to see which critters hadn't yet been updated. But if you can do that in 20 minutes, I'm impressed :D.

And I'm not sure why I missed those two snakes, but I've now dropped them from the list, thanks.

heh, i've done that before... gotta be careful, because in the CC forums you and i get an Edit Post and Quote button on every single post! it's an easy enough mistake to make, but fortunately i usually catch myself before i kill someone's post. ;)

From Wyrmskull Throne:
  • Quelzarn

The Quelzarn also appears in FRE2 Tantras. Since I'm eventually hoping to convert and run the FRE modules (anyone here ever done that btw? the railroading seems like it might be problematic, even according to comments Ed Greenwood made), I could try to help with that and the Denizens. I'd need advice, though, and would probably go pretty slowly.

*nod* If a creature appears in multiple sources, I've only listed the most recent source here.

An updated undead version of Glyphimor appeared in the adventure "Dead Gods" for Planescape.

and he was mentioned in FC1 IIRC?

Hmmm, now that I think about it. I think he may have been given stats in the BoVD, as a servant of Orcus (in orcus' entry). I'll check when I get home.

Nope, not in BoVD.

And, yes, he is mentioned in FC1. The only stat that is given is his Sense Motive check (+30) and mentions that he is a powerful Balor.

Cool... but is there any reason they aren't uploaded to the Creature Catalog? I'm nervous about counting creatures that only appear on message board threads, because experience has shown that those can fall prey to crashes.

But while we're on the topic of the creatures from the PC games, am I correct that several of the critters from that conversion thread have not actually ever had stats printed? I found some of them during a painstaking search through all of the PC game manuals, but as far as I can tell, many of them only appeared in the games themselves, and weren't given write-ups in the corresponding manuals. Is that right?

Because at the time, BOZ wasn't comfortable putting video game critters in there. I'll revisit it with him. :)

Yes, some I "converted" by getting their stats using cheat hacks, mostly those from the later games like the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series. You can also Google the critter names and sometimes find the stats in walkthroughs people have created.

BOZ said he's cool with posting the ones that had printed stats.

In other words, the SSI ones will be uploaded to the CC, the Bioware ones won't.

Great! I'll let you know once I upload them to the CC. I might just have to revive the ol' video game conversion thread to tackle some of the others.

cool, i definitely didn't expect that much! :)

well, i'm fine with them - they're at least semi-official if they have the TSR stamp on them. ;)

Mantidrake and Dracimera

Hey, Echohawk, I've finally gone ahead and posted the dracimera and mantidrake on my web page in PDF form under the "draconic hybrids" link here. I'll update that file with the other cult of the dragon conversions as I do them (and maybe some others for kicks), and I'll let you know here, too.

Awesome work freyar! I've banished the dracimera and mantidrake from the unconverted creatures list, updated the count for the Forgotten Realms critters over here and added the contents of that PDF to my monster index :).
