I really liked that - I bought the DVD to see it for the first time. I would be irked, except that I'm a DVD junkie anyway.

Dang. That makes me mad when they (DVD companies/movie companies/whom ever puts out the DVDs) pull this kind of stuff. I thought Underworld was okay and will watch it again but I didn't think it was good enough to buy another DVD! As much as I would love to have the extra stuff, that's not enough.

Hmmm. Netflix is looking better and better.

Didn't they get a green light for Underworld 2? I wonder if this prompted another DVD release?

It annoys me to no end as well, I wouldn't mind if I knew in advance so I could plan accordinly.

Of course this is why it's good to have relatives you can pawn things off to, then you don't feel as bad buying something twice.

Yes, the light is green for Underworld 2. One of the reason was strong DVD sells, which is the trend of movies...target the DVD market more than the big screen crowd. DVD market is untapped and growing, big screen is limited and known enitity.

I just saw this a couple days ago (borrowed the DVD from the library) and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a very very good movie. I'm surprised it got such bad/lukewarm reviews.

I think that because it had vampires and werewolves, people were expecting it to be more of a horror movie than an action movie with ninjae. It's a good action movie (heck, I raved on about it enough), but as a horror movie, it sucks. Plus there may have been some latent resentment against the whole White Wolf/Anne Rice/cool goth schtick, at least among non-WW gamers.

Me, I'm still waiting on the original Underworld DVD....
