Also from the catalog, D&D Miniatures.

February: Orc War Party a non-randomized selection of orcs containing: 4 Kobold Warriors, 1 Goblin Sneak, 1 Ogre, 3 Orc Archers, 1 Orc Berserker, and 6 Orc Warriors. $19.99

Outlaw War Party a non-randomized selection of adversaries containing: 1 Cleric of Order, 1 Dwarf Axefighter, 1 Halfling Veteran, 5 Man-at-Arms, 3 Elf Archers, 1 Wood Elf Skirmisher, 2 Wolves, 1 Human Wanderer, and 1 Owlbear. $19.99

March: Archfiends Expansion Pack a randomized expansion set for the D&D Miniatures Game containing 8 miniatures. $9.99

All these sets contains statistic cards for the included figures.

(edit) I think that concludes the new stuff in this catalog.

Those war parties are gonna make people happier i think. However, while I could do with lots of wolves, men-at-arms etc. I've never ever used an owlbear in a DnD game.

You know, I've always said the same thing. (I've used an Owlbear in B2: Keep on the Borderlands, but that's it). Whenever I gave an example of why randomised miniatures are better for stores than non-random packages, the owlbear was always the example I'd use of a miniature that would have trouble selling.

The silly thing is, I have an owlbear figure that I've owned for 15 years or so. Metal thing, right scale and everything. I've got to use it in a 3.5E session one of these days.

But... it may be that the owlbear is good enough to use in the miniature game, and its easy availability will mean more people use it in their D&D games.

It's always been a monster I've had a soft spot for - like the thoul.

:)

Cheers!

Unearthed Arcana, quoting from the catalog,
"... a wide choice of variant rules for alternate roleplaying in a D&D campaign. designed to expand the options available for customizing gameplay, these variant rules are modular and can be imported into any existing campaign in any amount desired. Examples of variant rules include playing core classes as prestige classes and alternate damage systems. Brand-new rules also appear, including a new system of metamagic feats and a new spell system."
Written by Andy Collins, Jesse Decker, David Noonan, and Rich Redman. 224 pages. $34.95[/B]
WooHoo! I can pay $35 to get the metamagic rules that should have been in the D&D 3.5 rulebook I just bought for $30 (well, actually $21 through Amazon, but I'm thrifty...).

You mean the ones considered to drastic a change for what was supposed to just be a revision?

How do you get this catalog? Can anybody get it?
Our distributors send us one or two. WotC sends them out so we, the retailers and ditributors, can plan our purchases. I don't know if they are available for the consumer to own, but we have always allowed ours to be viewed by the cutomers.

It looks like UA is a must. An alternate magic system. Bye-bye Vance. As long as it's playtested and found balanced, I'll switch. I noticed that the release says "alternate damage systems ". Being as it's plural, we might see VP/WP and something else.

Psi2 is quite likely, too. I've always included psionics on my homebrew world, so I need to continue to do so. If Psi2 improves the system over Psi1, I'm in.

The DM screen(s) are a possibility. We'll have to see about the quality and content.

Since I refuse to do anything that might give WotC the idea that FR has some redeeming qualities (IMHO it doesn't, YMMV), I guess I'll be passing on the Players Guide.
