Unearthed Arcana: Buying?

A month or two ago, Andy Collins as much as said that it wouldn't be put in the SRD. That's too much work for a big supplement. That's why they just made the book itself open.

With the expanded release of content i am now almost definitely not going to get it. Looks like a bunch of powermunchkin tweaks and rehashing of 2e concepts for 3.5. Plus just a lot of alternate rules that will further complicate an already overloaded system. Not to mention importing ideas already out there from other books.

Don't think i will be buying this one at all.

I'm in wait-and-see mode. Haven't bought any of Wizard's products in almost two years, due to them not having any OGC, and therefore being useless (in fact, counter-productive in some ways) as a reference source for my own writing.

If the OGC designation in this book means there will be lots of useful OGC in it, I will snap it right up.

Right now, I'm undecided, but once I see the OGC statement, I'll be able to go "yes" or "no" based on that alone... the content piques me, it's just a question of re-use.

Essentially everything is OGC, except for a few PI names, and the racial paragon classes of the PI races (githyanki, etc.).

John, I sent the discount Sunday, so I'd recommend buying before the 15th.

Have you bought anything from the last three STLs I have sent out? Because Amazon is claiming no-one bought any of the items I sent the discounts on from those three orders.

I mean, c'mon! At least one person must have bought Firefly!

I'm starting to just not want to bother with the whole STL thing. I mean, what's the point? I don't get any benefit, since I have to fight for every STL credit I get...

As always, I'll wait and see how reviewers and all the folks here dig it. I've found I very rarely buy anything anymore without gathering some info/opinions from reviews.

I've seen to many time where a new book everyone wants comes out, a ton of you buy it (including me) and then I hear mostly bad responses that I should not have bout the book.

I'll wait, their's no hurry.
