Random racial spells.... not my cup of tea but could be fun.

Summoning demons seem like fun spells. Reminds me of the instinctive actions of some 4e summons.

The summoning spells have an appropriately Demonomicon of Iggwilv feel to them. And that would be a good way to introduce them.

The spells are nice; need to read/parse them better, but I'm underwhelmed by the tieflings. If there hadn't been tiefling variants in the SCAG, I'd be interested, but this is the third tiefling variant (PH, SCAG, UA) we've seen. Someone at R&D must have a thing for tiefling rangers!

They might've originally been written as part of the Tiefling section of the SCAG but got cut for space reasons. It'd make sense, seeing as how they were an abyssal origin coming out with a product about demons.

The demon summoning spells are kind of awesome. I really like the "it's dangerous to summon these creatures" vibe that the spells got, and the variety of ways in which they are dangerous is interesting.

The abyssal tiefling...as a fan of alternate tiefling stories, I'm a little "eh" on it. Honestly, the SCAG method seems better to me - just provide some variants and leave the origins full of question marks. If you want to bring back the Tiefling Tables, do it for chargen, not at every rest - it's hard to get much of an identity going when you're not sure what you'll be like tomorrow.

Neat, but I wish tiefling racial variants had been included in the PHB. It would have made this article easier.
Including the infernal and all the extra talk also seems clunky when the SCAG did it much simpler and elegantly without having to rewrite the existing race. It's like if the author of UA hadn't even read SCAG.

So the mangled bodies of 334 peasants can be used to summon a Hezrou? Sounds like my wizard will be heading off to a farming village next session.
