Unhallowed Previews

yeah, i guess it kind of does look like a human. I'm not sure if i like this new sculpt better than the old one or not. I'll have to see it in person i guess.

I bought all singles. Makes me much happier, and I never open a box, and get...all the stuff I have already.

I learned this lesson playing M:tG. Singles is much cheaper, and in the end, more fulfilling. The only time we buy packs/cases is when we are playing limited. For DC and Marvel Super Hero boosters from Wizkids, I also bought singles only. I have tons of great minis, and spent relatively little.

Hmm.

Oooo, I like the Gorgon but I didn't see the rarity for it, anyone know it ?

FranktheDM: Yeah I see that also.

The sculpt of it is fine but why is this one rare also? They do a revisit because it is so popular and hard to get but make it a rare again so it will share the same fate? I don't get it.

I am not wild about either mini in preview3, but it is a welcome sight to see more critter types.

Now they just need to focus on critters that have not been done before... before doing resculpts.

So they went with the Shifter Swashbuckler instead of the real Strahd Von Zarovich, eh?

Whoever approved that look for the cover of Dragon magazine all those moons ago needs to seriously rethink their art parameters...

As of Van Richten, in my mind he looks like this:

Maybe I'm just cynical but I imagine that the reason why they made it a rare is because it is a popular mini. People will buy more boosters in the hope of getting an elusive Displacer Beast. My economical mind tells me that would be a good thing to do from a sales and profit perspective.

Hmm.

Keep in mind that WotC's sculpts and concept art is probably a year old by the time the minis come out in a set. I would say that it's just a coincidence. Besides that's a classic Dracula sort of pose.
