Well, part of it could be that I'm 6'6" and perhaps that keeps the real bad behaivor of some people in check.

Another part of it is simple respect. Where we game, the usual host, Eric, is very clear that if there's someone he doesn't like, as it's his house, he's going to punt that person out the door, regardless of whose GMing. That's one of the reasons I'm having a hard time buying into the whole super evil player.

Not saying it's not possible, just saying that with the regular groups and people I play with, it would've been nipped in the bud a long time ago by just about every other player.

Personally I would have had words with Frank at the BBQ - you don't take stuff that doesn't belong to you without asking. If the 'muffin incident' happened afterwards he would have been shown the door (before he ate all the muffins). What an ass.

Ah, well, I did ask him what he brought when he went for the third steak and the answer was "I dunno!" which made me mute - the stupidity of it! But "What an ass!" describes it perfectly. Gladly I tend to buy meat for twice the number of people when it comes to BBQ

Its been said already. Talk to other players. Get a feel / concensus then speak to DM. Think about possible reactions from him and the muffin robber and be prepared for them. Bad situation but it was obvious that it was just a matter of time before this happened.

We had a player like this in my group. The rest of the group got together and decided as a group that we wanted nothing to do with him until he could learn to play the game nicely. We gave him the ultimatum and stopped telling him where and when games were. He fussed, fumed, swore, and then left us alone. We're more than happy to welcome him back when he can play nicely with others. Until then, he's got World of Warcraft.

Wow. I think ... yes, I would have bodily thrown him from the place we were gaming after his mumbled reply. It wouldn't matter to me if it were even my house, he'd be going out the door, even if the host decided that I'd be following him.

It sounds like you've been having problems with Frank for quite some time before this though.

We are gaming in my own appartment, since we have a 6 month old son and are bound to stay at our place. I had my son at the time (yes, he is awake, partaking and even rolling dice when we game - after he slimes them, of course ) and that's why I didn't simply stand up to show him the door right then.

After he'd consumed a dozen muffins (not to mention the three steaks at the previous BBQ), throwing him bodily might have been a bit of a challenge.

My issues with Frank are numerous, but when I am a gamer and another char has no trouble with my char I tend to ignore things that bugger me but not the others. If I GM, that's another thing. I have very little free time and when I use most of it to make others have a good time there is no room for things like Frank. But as I said, I was too polite for some time and it built up.

Well, the guy is 180cm tall and weighs about 50kg. I don't know where all that food goes. Maybe it adds on my waist....the bastard!

Recognizing you're from Germany, and English might not be your native tongue...

I think the term you want is "bug", not "bugger". "Bug" means "annoy," and by context, it sounds like that's what you mean. "Bugger", while not entirely inapplicable, does have other, naughtier connotations...
