As long as each player is controlling a single character, it’s a role-playing game.

If the game portion isn’t fun, it fails as a game.

Sitting around waiting for 45 minutes to do something isn’t fun. Having to wait that long only for nothing to happen is even worse. Having to wait, rolling, and succeeding at doing something…only to be told your action doesn’t actually work is almost the worst. Having to wait 45 minutes to do something…only for your turn to be skipped is the worst. Might as well go watch a movie since you don’t get to do anything for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes.

If it takes 45 minutes between turns, someone at that table is doing something terribly wrong.

"Spicy" as an adjective for food is near useless because of its breadth. Most people just mean "hot" and "spicey" goes well beyond that.
Well made 'nduja from Calabria is quite spicy in my opinion, but of course you can go far spicier than that. I still find it a useful adjective.

I had a friend back in the day that said that ketchup was spicy.

I mean, that opinion did put 1950s American cuisine into focus.
To undermine my elitist credentials from the last hot take: ketchup is good actually as a master sauce. It's a complete blend of sweet, sour and umami thanks to the tomato, makes a great basis for other flavors, is surprisingly easy to make and adapt for different purposes with other ingredients but still perfectly serviceable in nearly all mass-market forms.

Ketchup deserves more respect.

I agree. That's why I always put it on hot dogs in Chicago.
