"An' wha'll knock sense intae him?" Gildrim growls. He's made his way out of the entangling area into the round room. "Ah swear this time Ah am tyin' him up if he gits chairmed again." He looks a bit befuddled himself as he checks on the fey that he's placed on the floor, coils his whip, and reaches into the edge of the writhing tablecloth for the hilt of his sword. It doesn't look as though he'll be ready to go anywhere for a few seconds. "At least this ane's stopped bleedin' oan his ane," he mutters.

OOC: current locations?

ooc: No time to do a map, but.... Ter-raen is on the table still, but may move half his speed this round as part of his escape from entanglement. Gildrim is in the round room. Erf was on the porch at the end of last round, and hasn't said what he's doing this round yet. Presumably Fenenn is with him. G3 is out of sight, having gone in the door to the left from the porch.

"Kshatrya!" Erf calls from the entrance to the garden, "Get out here now! And if you try to charm me again I warn you things will go very badly for you! Now, do you know these Grigs? Because I think they've been pulling the wool over your eyes and I want to get to the bottom of this! I swear by Verdante's beard of bees that I won't do anything te hurt ye if ye don't try anything first."

The little green gnome scours the greenery ready to command Fenenn to charge. Sensing his companion's worry Fenenn growls menacingly.

[sblock=Round 5 and 6, alternate timeline. Didn't actually happen!]

Round 5, continued

"Why plants so stubborn!?!?!?" Ter-raen roars in frustration as he finally breaks free of the irritating plants! "And where gnome going?!?"

"Te knock some sense into a Nixie!" Erf growls, uncharacteristically in response to Ter-raen's question. Ter-raen follows, joining Erf on the covered porch.

Round 6

"Kshatrya!" Erf calls from the entrance to the garden,"Get out here now!

"Erf? Is that you? Just a moment," comes the nixie's familiar voice. There is a slight rustle of leaves, and Kshatrya comes out of the trees towards Erf. She is dripping wet, and still adjusting the strap on her leaf-dress, which seems to keep slipping off her green shoulder. The strap, not the dress. "Grigs? I don't know any grigs. All right, I won't charm you if you don't want me to. You're back already? I thought it would take longer. Where is Sister... what was her name? Asphodel?"

Her eyes travel to the writhing tendrils of the tablecloth, still wrapping themselves around Erf's legs and ankles. "Erf, what is that? It's all over you!"

Just then, the door behind Erf bursts open, and the grig flies out, bow in hand, and seeing the tableau before him, veers to the up and flies over Erf and Fenenn's heads, before disappearing into the trees behind Kshatrya. (hide check: 27)

The grig is pursued rapidly by a very angry snake with a bloody scratch along its flank. The snake, being not particularly bright, attacks the first thing it sees: Fenenn. It lashes out, sinking its teeth into Fenenn's leg (5 damage).

[sblock=kn(nature) DC 10 (can be made untrained)]This kind of snake is especially dangerous to smaller prey, since it can squeeze them in its powerful coils[/sblock]

Initiative
G1 4 damage after DR, unconscious
G2 3 damage after DR, unconscious
Erf 22/22, entangled
Fenenn 7/13
Kshatrya, undamaged
G3 uninjured, flying, out of sight
Snake scratched
Ter-raen 25/25 <== You're up
Gildrim 16/16

ooc: Ter-raen is still in the entanglement area, and must make a DC 14 reflex save at the start of his turn or be entangled. If you are entangled and move out of the entanglement area, the writhing strands fall off at the end of your turn. Re-entering the area, you need to make the reflex save immediately.

I left g3 on the map; that should be considered a last known position.

Things are going about as well as Gildrim expected they would. He tries to hurry.[sblock=OOC]Counting move actions: round 5, exited entangled area and dropped grig, and put whip away; round 6, stow shield, retrieve sword; round 7, pick up grig, move 20' north along passageway; round 8, move to southern door on the western wall of the big room and open it; round 9, Gildrim to the, er, rescue. In other words, don't wait for Gildrim-posts![/sblock]

"Kshatrya, you 'ave te listen te me. I'm sure that yer goddess appreciates yer worship, but I'm just as sure that she'd not like ye being duped, and I'm pretty sure thats what's happening 'ere. Yer being played fer a sucker, there are a bunch o' Grigs livin' in the 'ouse 'n' I think they're the ones askin' ye te dance 'n' such. They know ye, and they attacked us, we 'ealed two that we 'ad te knock out - they're still inside. Its not fer yer goddess, but some cheeky bitte Grigs. 'N' I like ye too much te allow that..."

Erf's foot revolves in a sheepish circle.

"I realize this is a lot te take in, but yer goddess wouldn't mind ye checkin' I'm sure. 'N' if it turns out I'm right, well, umm, maybe ye could become Sister Anemone's new apprentice, 'n' she could help ye worship Galatea, 'n' then maybe I could, err, send ye a letter now and then 'n' come by 'n' see ye, 'n' ye wouldn't be lonely, 'n' ye could help more of the townsfolk so they'd worship Galatea 'n' it'd be really nice..."

The little forest gnome trails off into silence, his cheeks now a deep emerald green and stares at his boots.

[sblock=Erf's Charmingly Disarming Diplomacy = 22!]Diplomacy (1d20+2=22) Nat 20!!! Wow, I'm glad that was a good roll![/sblock]

[sblock=Wrong Door!] Ah, actually Erf and Fenenn are supposed to be at the other door - parallel to the front door. :confused: Sorry to be a pain, but its partially because it was out of the entangle and partially because I/Erf had worried about the snake being released by the Grig - I knew I couldn't resist it as a DM ;).[/sblock]

ooc: Argh! I thought we were on the same page. I guess not. The door I put you guys by is parallel to the front door, too. Just to be sure I've got this: you mean the door straight down from the pond? Counting movement, I think that works... At the end of round 4, Erf is still at the foot of the table (here) and is entangled. In round 5, he can move E, NE, N, N as a double move, at which point the tendrils drop off and he can move full speed again. In round 6, he goes N, N, NW, NW, W, opens the door, and starts his sermon, with only slight handwaving to let him talk a lot at the end of a double move. Fenenn can match that easily. If Ter-raen follows Erf, he ends up in the round room with Gildrim at the start of his turn in round 6. The grig.... Well, I'll make sure I've got that much right before going on with him. Is that right so far? I'm gonna go put some damn grid coordinates on that map.

[sblock=OOC] Ah, I see I should have said parallel and adjacent, I missed the other parallel door. To be really clear if the map had letters up to and numbers to the side with the top left corner left blank then Fenenn would be in N11 and Erf in O11.

By the way Brudd just hit Arjanna in The Captain's Caper and granted Quagmire +4 to hit, you don't mess with the boys from the Bloody Wake - we mess with you![/sblock]
