Round 6, continued
Ter-raen quickly makes his way through the hallways, emerging on the paved area near Erf.
"Snake coming!" Ter-raen stands in front of Erf, not sure how to react to the snake.
"You chase it away? Or Ter-raen kill it?"
"I think we're gonna need te deal with it, try te leave it alive if ye can - poor thing." Erf replies regretfully.
"Thanks fer backin' me up big fella!"
Gildrim puts away his shield and grabs up his sword.
Round 7
Erf points Fenenn to the snake and the big dog bounds over snapping at the serpent, drawing more blood. (hits for 4 damage)
Meanwhile the forest gnome speaks:
"Kshatrya, you 'ave te listen te me. I'm sure that yer goddess appreciates yer worship, but I'm just as sure that she'd not like ye being duped, and I'm pretty sure thats what's happening 'ere. Yer being played fer a sucker, there are a bunch o' Grigs livin' in the 'ouse 'n' I think they're the ones askin' ye te dance 'n' such. They know ye, and they attacked us, we 'ealed two that we 'ad te knock out - they're still inside. Its not fer yer goddess, but some cheeky bitte Grigs. 'N' I like ye too much te allow that..."
Erf's foot revolves in a sheepish circle.
"I realize this is a lot te take in, but yer goddess wouldn't mind ye checkin' I'm sure. 'N' if it turns out I'm right, well, umm, maybe ye could become Sister Anemone's new apprentice, 'n' she could help ye worship Galatea, 'n' then maybe I could, err, send ye a letter now and then 'n' come by 'n' see ye, 'n' ye wouldn't be lonely, 'n' ye could help more of the townsfolk so they'd worship Galatea 'n' it'd be really nice..."
The little forest gnome trails off into silence, his cheeks now a deep emerald green and stares at his boots.
Kshatrya stares at the Fenenn, emotions flitting across her beatiful face in a bewildering flurry.
Erf, what? What are you saying! The voice of the goddess is some kind of cruel joke? But... I don't believe it! How could you know?" But her face shows confusion and uncertainty.
Just then, there is a bright glow from the pool, and the silver chalice there is outlined in brilliant blue sparkles. An angry voice emerges from the air above it.
"Do not heed the voice of the unbeliever, my faithful servant. He speaks blasphemy, here in this holiest of places. Drive him away! Be my good right arm, my daughter, and I will shower you with my blessings."
Kshatrya stares at the chalice, and for a long moment, everything in the little glade seems to stand still, poised on a cusp. Then Kshatrya draws a ragged breath and speaks, her voice shaking.
"You're right, goddess. There is an intruder here, a defiler of what's holy. But before I smite them in your name, goddess, please explain to me. Why are the leaves of that tree over there rustling, though there is no wind and all the other boughs are still? It's almost as if someone were using a spell. An illusion." Then suddenly a delicate-looking crossbow is in her hands (though exactly where in that particular outfit she managed to keep a loaded crossbow is a thought that will surely occupy Erf through many a night's watch), and without seeming to look, she fires a bolt into the thickest part of the trees. A scream of pain and anger rings out.
Then the snake bites Fenenn, drawing an answering howl of pain, and the magical moment is broken. (ooc:

[sblock=ooc]Kshatrya made her
will save due to the bonus from Erf's diplomacy. Then she rolled a
natural 20 to hit the grig with her crossbow, and then
confirmed (with the help of a +1 from dramatic necessity) Only 7 damage, and subject to DR, but hey.

I moved Erf outside the door for his speech. Feel free to move him back inside if you like.
