Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

Erf gazes dreamily at Kshatrya for a moment before shaking his head and grinning at Ter-raen. He winces as Fenenn is struck by the serpent, but knows the wolf hound can handle himself.

"Hang in there Fenenn, great shot Kshatrya! Give yerself up Grig yer pals are down 'n' the jig is up!"

[sblock=OOC]Oh good! Well I am glad the Erf's suspisions were correct rather than my own! I still remember peeking into a box which I was not strictly entitled to and seeing a note referring to another Nixie...

Also in regards to Fenenn's last attack, is it possible to trip a snake? I'm not going to worry about it, but what do you reckon?[/sblock]

[sblock=You can't trip a snake. Or a gelatinous cube.]
Ok, that question blew my mind. Fortunately, I have google to back me up.

From the D&D FAQ:

Q: Being tripped makes you prone. Who can be tripped? Beholders? Gelatinous cubes? What effect does tripping have on these creatures? Can a prone character be tripped again? What about flying and swimming creatures? Many creatures have neither legs nor any relationship to the ground or gravity. How does tripping affect them?

A: Anything using limbs for locomotion can be tripped. Things that don’t need limbs for locomotion can’t be tripped. You can’t trip a snake, a beholder, or a gelatinous cube. You won’t find this in the rules, but then it really doesn’t need to be in there—the rules can leave some things to the DM’s common
sense.

A creature flying with wings can be “tripped,” in which case the creature stalls (see Tactical Aerial Movement on page UNGEON MASTER’s Guide). You can’t make an incorporeal creature fall down. You also can’t trip a prone creature.

Creatures can’t be tripped when they’re swimming (the water holds them up). Likewise, a burrowing creature is driving its body through a fairly solid medium that serves to hold it up.

HP 25/25, AC 18

Two of them! Ter-raen would like to spend a little time to think about the realities of the situation, if not for the snake that's trying to bite him and the big dog. Get rid of snake first, is Ter-raen's solution. He tries to get into a flanking position, if that were possible against a reptile as such, and slashes at the neck, aiming for a decapitating blow.

Damn slippery snakes... Natural 1 to hit!

Fenenn snaps at the snake, but is unable to close with the slippery creature dispite the distraction of Ter-raen.

Erf steps up behind Fenenn and readies himself to heal the big dog after the snake strikes.

[sblock=Hit 12, 4 Damage, grr! Erf will heal for 9]1d8+2=9 Fenenn (1d20+5=12, 1d6+3=4) [/sblock]

Round 7, continued

Two of them! Ter-raen would like to spend a little time to think about the realities of the situation, if not for the snake that's trying to bite him and the big dog. Get rid of snake first, is Ter-raen's solution. He tries to get into a flanking position, if that were possible against a reptile as such, and slashes at the neck, aiming for a decapitating blow.

Gildrim, blissfully unaware of the goings on, snatches up the unconscious grasshopper-man and heads along the passage.

Fenenn snaps at the snake, but is unable to close with the slippery creature dispite the distraction of Ter-raen.

Erf steps up behind Fenenn and readies himself to heal the big dog after the snake strikes.

There is a rustle from the trees, and Erf and Fenenn look up to see the grig perched on a tree limb, pointing an outstretched finger at Ter-raen. It gives a howl of triumph as the fey magics penetrate Ter-raen's defenses this time. It becomes immediately clear what the spell was, as the mighty barbarian shrinks rapidly to a height scarcely more than three feet tall. (failed fort save, T is affected by reduce person)

Kshatrya takes another pot shot at the grig, but her bolt flies wide.

Finding itself nearly surrounded, and with an easier target available, the snake attacks mini-Ter-raen, but the shrinking man is too much for its tiny brain to comprehend, and it bites harmlessly in the air over Ter-raen's head. Its movement carries it a few feet to the southwest.

(ooc: I'll let you decide whether that triggers Erf's readied action or not.)

Gildrim at last bursts through the doorway into the light of the garden [OOC: I13], waving his sword in one hand and holding up a bloody grig by one grasshoppery leg.

"Awreet, everythin's in hand, Gildrim's haur!" He looks about, taking in the scene - the crossbow-wielding nixie, the strangely diminutive half-orc, the snake - and pauses, baffled.

"Wha shoud Ah hit?" he asks.[sblock=OOC]I'm unexpectedly away until the 26th. Try not to sweep the entire house without me.[/sblock]
