Use magic device and scrolls

We have not used this skill much in past campaigns but it will be used in our current one so I just wanted to clarify something.

If a bard has an arcane scroll from a Wizard would he have to emulate the Int score needed to cast the spell or since that spell is also on the sorcerer list could he use his Chr and just make the one UMD check?

There are no wizard scrolls, just arcane scrolls. ;)

Basically, the bard can choose how, and surely casting the scroll as a sorcerer makes the most sense.

Thanks.

I was confused because the SRD broke it down further in the explanation

To cast a spell from a scroll, you need a high score in the appropriate ability (Intelligence for wizard spells, Wisdom for divine spells, or Charisma for sorcerer or bard spells). Your effective ability score (appropriate to the class you’re emulating when you try to cast the spell from the scroll) is your Use Magic Device check result minus 15. If you already have a high enough score in the appropriate ability, you don’t need to make this check.

Yes, it can be unclear, the rogue can be intelligent or charismatic because sorcerers and wizards have the same list.
He can be both, and wise also :)

It should be noted that there would be two spells for which he would need to emulate the Intelligence: Mordenkainen's Lucubration and Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer. Both spells are listed as "Wizard only."

Right. If the Bard ever needs to cast a spell that affects his prepared spells, he'll want to keep that in mind. :\
