Hello all!

Until D&D 3rd ed came out, I was a pretty hardcore Vampire: the Masquerade player, and kept up on most of the metaplot. However, when 3e came out, I pretty much never looked back.

5 years later, the WOD is over, I missed a bunch of stuff, and we're taking a break from D&D to go back to Vampire. I got curious and started looking, but it seems like there's a strange lack of info even on white wolf's boards. I know there was a Gehenna source book, but I heard that didn't give much info either. So my questions are:

Does the world end with a bang or a whimper?

I know Saulot was possessing Tremere. What eventually happened with that?

What's up with the Baali (and their connection to Saulot?)

What happened with the Antediluvians?

Fortunately, I know the users in this forum are quite a bit more eloquent and concise than the ww forum users; the scant bits I was able to glean from those forums were...difficult to understand...at best.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Gehenna book has four end of the world scenarios for VtM; some of them end with bangs, others with whimpers, and Tzimisce itself swallows New York City in one of them.

I understand why they did the 4 endings, but I don;'t like that they did the 4 endings. For what 10 years we had this huge meta plot that really never had options and it was building up to one thing...not 4. Its a nice book, and I hope to find the rest of the books that cover the end.

I agree with you, but I also like that the multiple choice formula has been used for nWoD. The "VII" book, for instance, will offer various versions of who that clan/faction of vampires are, so there's no one true answer for all games. Obviously, groups could always do this, but making it official that there's no set answer to the big mysteries of the setting is a great move for an occult game line, IMO.

I'm loving it for the requim game, but in masqurade we had years and years of one plot that it was almost like watching a movie. Except when we get to the end there is no end, just 4 choices for people to take if they want. It was to me a cop out.
