Vader is Luke's Father!!! (spoilers)

speaking of the thread title... how exactly did Vader find out that Luke was his son? Haven't seen ROTS yet... did he find out sometime after he became Vader? Or did he somehow guess it all offscreen based on Luke's last name?
Anakin might not be the brightest bulb in the box, but:
1. The name.
2. Feeling that "The Force is strong with this one" from his X-wing (he could probably figure out that it was Luke's ship).
3. Having him turn up at the same time Obi-Wan comes out of hiding.

These kinda add up to some pretty strong indicators that Luke is indeed his son. My guess is that he then uses the Force to make sure once they do meet face to face in ESB.

Right, Orius -- see, I was posting something that would have been a spoiler in the original trilogy. It was a little homage.

Oh I knew that. Just a little creative sarcasm to get my post count up. :)

I didn't laugh... Maybe I'm to much of a geek as all I could think of is, "Its the Holonet" not the intergalacticnet... :heh:
I can agree with that... ;)

so... there is no official way that he found out, nothing in all the books or movies? I suppose he could simply have used the Imperial intelligence networks to find out who he was and where he came from... although that still wouldn't point a direct line to him being daddy...

Well when Luke blew up the Death Star he pretty much overnight became a rebel celebrity… It wouldn’t be hard for the rebels to piece his movements from Yavin back to Tatooine.
