value per dollar (enworld IS my flgs)

I became a community supporter here not long after becoming a member. i also do a good bit of shopping at the sites rpg store and i just must say, that for the little bit of money that this site has drained from my pockets (all voluntary) i get no more value for my entertainment dollar anywhere.

i figure my community supporter status costs about the equivalent of the wife and i seeing a movie, i figure that the gaming supplies i get here are about the same as going into the city(my not-so-friendly local gaming store is 45 minutes away) costwise.

think about it, next time you go to buy a supplement think about its cost versus its benefit and think of enworld and a "membership". i think you just might find this little hole in the wall a great value.

done ranting, please return to the dragon 300 argument or whatever productive something-or-rather you were up to.

When there is a slow month in my RPG buying I know I'll do the Community Support thing. I've always contributed to the sites (non-corporate) that I enjoy. And it is nice to get something back. :D

Alsih2o? Thanks.

It's been one of those days. The goodwill is astonishingly appreciated by your mods. :D

And hey! Become a community supporter and search, search, search!

Your right Clay !
There are to many people around here with a boring "member" title.

Become a member and change all that.

And PC, remember to call upon us if you guys need help with anything.

I posted the following on the Meta Board last month ( and emailied it to Morrus ) and got no response - What do you think of this idea?
------------------------------------

Double EN's community supporters in a month... (SUBJECT )
Catchy subject eh?

First, thanks to Morrus ( and his lovely grandmother ) for maintaining this beautiful site, and to all the posters who make it a new and interesting place to visit daily.

This site keeps getting bigger as I discover additional forums...
I have run into situations where I could really benefit from the search function to fully utilize this resources here, and have been considering commiting to become a community supporter for a few weeks now, but just haven't pulled the trigger.

An idea occured to me that might be ( even MORE ) mutually beneficial. A membership drive with an added incentive! Since Morrus is selling .pdf's now, how about a free d20 .pdf with any one year community supporter membership?

Eh? What you think? I bet we can double the number of community supporters in one month with this package deal. Tell you what - I'll be the first to sign up! How about a poll to test the waters at least?

Hmmm. I think I might, but, I feel kinda silly getting a custom tag when I primarily lurk. I know that's not the main point at all. I probably wouldn't use search much either, which isn't the point either, but, I dunno, it feels like I would be purchasing those features more than just donating. Which is just me being silly.

But, besides being a community supporter, buy from the store anyway! The flat shipping and good prices on books and dice and mats and figs and everything else are very worthwhile.

It's not quite as cheap as amazon, but you won't have to wait on books that amazon doesn't stock, and you also get the happy feeling of knowing you just supported a worthwhile community while at the same time getting a good deal.

Did I mention they carry all that rare and small publisher stuff that you've had trouble finding at amazon and at your local game shop? :)

Speaking from a "need money to help pay for the server" perspective, we're okay with both the "buying features" and the "donating to be a cool person" viewpoints. Either way, you help support the site! :D

I am overdo for a community supporter contribution and will have to get around to it. I mean sheesh I have over 500 posts already
