Vampire char?

Iv been wondering what the general thought of a player being a vampire is. Through extensive roleplaying and hard work of corse, i was thinking of rewarding some of the PC's witht he option of being a vampire. They are an all evil party of Cyric and Bane worshopers, which is proving to be a very conflicting and interesting twist in my campain, but one of the players has showed increasing interest in turning his character into a vampire. They are a high level party, and create greater undead isnt far from their reach, so i have been contemplating this, please give me ur thoughts and oppinions on the subject

More details on what such a thing would mean in your world. Is the campaign based in a city? Are undead a well-known "public enemy" for any groups in the city? How much of his nature would he have to hide?

There are some worlds where vampires walk around like anyone else (Discworld, for example). There are others where vampires work hard to hide their existance (White Wolf's Vampire game, for example).

Basically, is he going to ruin the party's chance to do a large set of cool things? Or is he going to just gain another interesting "quirk"?

Well considering this is the Realms, being a vampire is only second fiddle to being a lich. In any case as long as no one tries to rebuke/command him, I think the player should have fun with it. (Heck just for kicks, have him take a few levels in wizard/sorcerer, take the Shadow Weave Feats, and then go Shadow Adept. )

Currently they are involved in the city of the spiderqueen modual, but they are comeing to the end soon, and i am thinking of what to do. so to answer your question, they are in the underdark, which is the most twisted places for a vampire to exist because there is no daylight, and anyone who knows anything about the city of the spiderqueen modual knows there are plenty of udead and vampires and the such. they are quite familular with killing vampires and the like.

leme give u some backdrop on the chars, there really isnt much of a city that they have a tie to, although some are strongly connected with the Zentarians, and the chosen of bane, and all that stuff, while others are cyric oriented, and more rouge agents,
