Vampire Kingdom

Not to get distracted by a tangent here that's really completely unrelated to the discussion at hand, but I disagree. Regimes that cause a fair amount of fear in the populace have been suprisingly long-lasting many, many times in the past. I think I could easily name half a dozen off the top of my head that contradict what you claim is a trusim of history, and easily many more beyond that with a bit of cursorial research.

But I'm not going to, because, like I said, that's completely a tangent unrelated to the discussion at hand that I don't want to get bogged down with.

Hey all! :)

Just wondering if you have had a chance to check out the Rifts: Vampire Kingdoms sourcebook. I don't actually own the book myself but I have always been meaning to buy it. I own about half a dozen of the Rifts sourcebooks and they are always chock-filled with good campaign ideas.

If I may take a moment to blow my own trumpet...

...I am currently writing a small (approx. 48 pages) Vampire-centric Bestiary pdf (for 4E). I should have it written by the end of the month, though I need to commission the art after that (so its probably two months away from sale). It has lots of different vampire types spread (fairly evenly) over Levels 11-35 as well as a smattering of gods, demons, giants, dragons, golems and humans; all with some kind of relationship to Vampires and their kin.

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere already, so I highly recommend checking out the Terry Pratchett book "Carpe Jugulum." Vampire Kingdom where the vampires make a point of being civilized, and have a system worked out with the commoners. Of course, things aren't quite as happy as they'd like to make it seem.
