[Vile] Your flesh is my armor!

Excellent idea...

I'm totally stealing it :)...

By the way, do you plan Warhammer 40k? This reminds me of Necron Flayed Ones... They are robotic skeletons that cut off the skin of other races (Elves, Humans, etc) and wear it to infiltrate the enemy ranks...

Sounds kinda similar...

Of course he'd have to steal new skins fairly often... He couldn't go on a long boat trip with the PCs... The rotting skin would be somewhat of a give away that something was up.

Of course there is that useless Oil of Timelessness...

Wel, it depends. If the magic sort've 'keeps the skin going' for a while, he may not need to trade off That Often.

If all it does is let him wear the skin, then yeah. But I'mt hinking it allows him to sort've 'feel' alive; get the person's senses of touch and taste briefly. Though after a while, those go too, like it's slowly dieing and shutting down.

Of course, there's always 'Grim Repose'.

Sweet idea, i think i'll yoink it too. If i recall, DragonGirl did a Call of Cthulu monster conversion that was similar, pretty much something inside a body. Gave it a +6 or something to the armor of the creature inside. Something you could do would be to give it a high bonus ac at first, and then has the body gets hacked up during combat it loses ac. The skeleton inside would "play dead" once the skin started to fall apart.

I think the only rough part of it would be encumberance - the skeleton is essentially lugging around the tissue, right? Like it was a real heavy body suit. You might be able to add some light or even medium armor to it, but i think that would be out it. Unless he was wearing a real skinny person.
