For those wondering about the comments regarding back at your own risk...

Catalyst has an interesting history in regards to embezzlement, not paying freelancers...etc.

Even more recently though is their shaky ground on fulfilling what they promise in their Kickstarters...at least if I am understanding correctly.

This is one you may want to do your research on before jumping headfirst off a cliff.

Of course, I've never been a Voltron fan (I've never even watched the cartoon) so I have no idea how fanatical their fans are about this stuff.

You are exactly right.

I backed a card game from them. When I got it, It was missing parts (tokens used to keep track of a resource) and their way of fixing it was “print your own off this PDF” and “here is discount off our webstore”.

Swore I’d never back something of theirs again.

But yes I’ve heard of some of their older kickstarters not even fully delivering.

Catalyst is known for their quality assurance booboos.

I have a 1st print run of their 6th Ed Shadowrun book (got it when it came out from GenCon) and it has more errata then any RPG I have ever owned.

I backed this as I like Voltron, but there are a lot of red flags. They are not offering EU and other non-US friendly shipping, but when asked they say they do not want to talk about shipping now. Whenever someone comments something critical, they report that comment so that it gets hidden. This seems to be a rulebook / setting book combo, and does not seem to include an adventure campaign, but this part is also not very clear, they do not really answer those questions. Regarding this one, I think it would make sense to either provide campaign, or at least a campaign frame, but we don't know if they are doing that.

They had massive shipping issues with the recent Battletech KS. The shipping charges on mine, for instance, amounted to 40% of the KS itself. People were seeing 120-200 dollars shipping fees.

The really terrible thing is that people who did not back got the product faster and cheaper when it released so the KS folks funded it and got reamed by extra shipping costs and still paid more for the product than retail.

You do you, but I'd wait and buy it off the shelf or from Amazon or Ebay later on just to be safe.
