Now T-Bill, you know I think you're a great guy despite being a Canucks fan
(4 goals from Daniel Sedin?!? You're kidding right?!?). But I'm definitely in favor of limiting terms to 2-3 consecutive years, so that we can create a system which fosters a slightly larger turnover ratio in the judging panel. I don't think we can know how good another panel would be unless we find oursleves in a situation which deviates from the status quo by more than roughly one person each year. And I do believe that there are other qualified candidates available and willing to serve as judge within this community.
That said, I'm not going to debate the incredible quality of past or current panels. I have voted for most of you this year or previously, and do so because you are deserving of votes under the current system. As much as I want a seat on the panel myself, I will continue voting for those I deem most worthy while quietly working to effect a change in the existing system.
FDR may have been a great U.S. President, but there is a reason his tenure in office spurred the institution of term limits for that office. As it correlates to ENnies judging, I'd say that panel uniformity each year means it is somewhat more likely that similar products (or products which accomplish similar "things") win time and again. Just something to consider.
In any event, good luck to all as the final hours of voting approach!
