What class do you like most? And why? Is it because of its cool powers, because of its stile?

Note: this is about the classes you liken not classes you don't like. So no "class x is overpowered" or "class y is underpowered" or "class z sucks and should be removed from the game". Rants are three doors down the street. Thank you for your attention.

Rogue, all the way. I can do a little of this a little of that.

Magic? I UMD. Fight? I sneak attack and Tumble with the best of them. Infiltrate? Hide and Move Silently. the list goes on.

Plus, they're just so cool :)

Wizard. They rule at high levels. Its downhill for the other classes the second a Wizard learns fireball. How long does Mr. Rogue last without Improved Invisibility? I thought so...

I voted for Wizard, since my favorite charecters of mine have been a wizard, a wizard/elemant savant, and a monk/illusionist.

2nd favorite (and close to first) is rogue

Bah, wizards.

Sorcerors, all the way and THEN some!

Fine, Mister wizard, at 6th level you get, what, 2 or maybe 3 (if you're a specialist) 6d6 fireballs per day?

The sorceror matches that, AND, can decide on metamagics ofr his spells on the fly. Taking a full round action to cast isn't that big a deal (so you move 5', instead of 30', that round ... big whoop).

Sorcerors absolutely rule for tactical flexibility. Strategically, they suffer (especially compared to wizards), but ... I just LOVE sorcerors.

The female human paladin that died in battle against evil was raised only for enough time to bear a child, an Aasimar, borne on the planes beyond in a virgin conception, Paladin/Sorceror, CHA22 (with a special familiar), +6 on DCs and Saves; Oh Yeah! Foul Evil - fear my wrath!

With the advent of 3rd edition, I will have to go with the rogue. They are now a much more viable, and extremely versatile, class. They also make archery a few notches more interesting.

Wizard was closely followed by EVERYONE! Each class brings their own distinct flavor to the table. However in the Wizard versus Sorcerer I see the Wizard as a Maker, while the Sorcerer is a Doer.
IMHO The Wizard who wakes up in the morning and says "Yup I think I'm gonna need a Silent Magic Missile and a Still Light spell today" won't wake up for very many days, but they can always learn what they need to know, put it in a book, on a scroll, in a wand...
The Sorcerer who burns a known spell on something stupid for the sake of building an Everdribbling Cup of Melancholy Fluids, won't be as effective in his battles.
Mind you, both have their places, as do each of the classes, but their places are different.
