We could watch for him to leave for his night's nefarious business and follow him wherever he goes, until we find evidence of his wrongdoing, although there are seven of us and that might prove difficult. I hasten to add, I speak hypothetically, and do not mean to impugn his good name without cause.
"Your thief-bait plan is good. Or we could stay close to a dock and watch for Blacklilies attempting to board a ship on one of their raids. They would be vulnerable as they tried to cross the water.
"Or we could wander around the seedier parts of the north harbour, looking for trouble - perhaps even shouting for it, as Cludge suggests, though I think that might involve tackling the entire gang at once.
"As I say, too many options, and no means to know which will work the best. We should pick one and trust to fate."
