W3: The Eidolon (Bront Judging)

[Velmont]

"Great gratitude." tells Haltash to T'Ranis, leaving the others to speak to the humans.

 

[stonegod]

Tondrek pop up, waving friendlily. As he waddle over to Guardian, channeling some repairing infusion, he says cheerfully, "We friend! Not like bad hobs. You see ship? We looking for ship."

 

[Wik]

One of the humans mutters underneath his breath - you can't hear what he's saying, as the distant sounds of battle still echo through the streets.

"A ship? We've seen two airships - one came in about an hour ago, just like that damned Bugbear promised. Only, he didn't give it to us - he simply killed his crew, and next thing we know, there's hobgoblins all over the streets, rushing to the ship. And then it flies away - and the hobgoblins go even crazier. And now, another ship has come back-"

"Reinforcements..." one of the others add.

"-right, reinforcements. You men can fight" he says, not noticing Lori, "And we could use you. We're fortifying here. Let someone else take care of the hobs-"

"Right, someone stupid enough to..."

"-And we should get by in relative peace. We could use the extra hands, but don't think we have any treasures in here. Just because this place used to be a monastery, doesn't mean it is one anymore. You'd be lucky to find anything more than rats."

 

[Patlin]

While T'Ranis would not admit that targetting the monastery was a sentimental decision, he himself recognized it as such and is mentally and emotionally prepared to move on. Unfortunately, the body is not as fit as the spirit.

"If I am to help you against your enemies, I will require healing. If this place is completely empty of clergy, perhaps one of you might have a potion?"

Tondrek brightens at the mentions of the ships. "Other ship no reemaforcements! Its us! We be ship hunting! Stop it before it go boom!" He smiles brightly as if everything was just peachy. "You be okay here? We gotta find shippy ship!"

 

[Wik]

The men give Tondrek a strange look, as if they're just realizing he's "not quite right". They then turn to T'Ranis, and the main speaker says "You can't help us defend? Then you are no use..."

OOC: Diplomacy Check for anyone who wants to try.

 

[Patlin]

T'Ranis is more than willing to allow the others to handle the diplomacy, as he has no illusions as far as his ability to persuade. He does, however, look the speaker over carefully to assess his intentions.

Is he considering attacking T'Ranis and his companions? Is he trying to determine whether providing healing will be to his own benefit... or is there simply none available?

"We could have left you with your trouble, but we decide to come and help you handle that Ogre and teh hobgoblins. Even if we leave you alone, we most likely attract the attention and take care of more hobgoblin in that city and leaving you time to raise stronger barricade and hide yourself more properly. We just ask a little cooperation in exchange, is it too much?" asks Haltash.

"Apparently so." the man replies to Haltash. With that, he turns to head out.

T'Ranis doesn't get a very good read on the man. There was definitely a "Sizing up", and it seems like he's going with his gut, maybe, and avoiding you. Before he leaves, though, he says one thing: "That hobgoblin shouted 'Azrag'. He's a leader of the hobs, and a right bastard. If you see him, get a stab in for me. If he doesn't kill you, that is."

Soon, your group is left alone near the monastery, the sounds of battle in the distance.

T'Ranis turns to his companions.

"Are you certain we are on the correct side of this argument? I suppose we are oposed to this Azrag fellow generally, but the people he fights seem unlikely to apreciate our services."
