W3: The Eidolon (Bront Judging)

Seeing that he is only facing one opponent, Guardian pulls his blade up in a salute before bringing it sweeping down across the assassin's torso. He then steps back saying, "Pursuing us now would be foolish."

The now-visible woman glares at Shadow, and takes a step back. She then raises her arm in the air, and a mist from a ring on her finger surrounds her. Within half a second, she has faded from view. "See you around, Psychic." Shadow can hear the promise in her voice.



Lori tries to pull off a shot at the woman as she goes invisible, and seems to cast the spell only a moment after she fades into nothingness. The attack comes dangerously close to missing, but in the end, it strikes the woman - where, Lori cannot tell, for the woman is now entirely invisible.

Lori is rewarded with the sound of the woman screaming in pain, and a sharp intake of breath. "You'll pay for that!" the woman cries out.

Shadow, nearby, can smell charred flesh.

Shadow can no longer see the woman, and so he cannot take his stated action. His psionic construct attacks the remainin assassin, but is unable to land a solid hit. Warlock, is there any idea what Shadow will do?

OOC:Shadow, instead of using the 3 pp on suggestion, will use it to manifest vigor (taking a 5-ft step back) for 15 temp hp, which he really, really needs. Also, keep the dialogue except the command.

"That would be great. How about dinner on Friday? comments the changeling as his body toughens itself. "You'd look great in a blue dress."

Shadow will manifest entangling ectoplasm on the invisible woman by spending 1 PP, slinging a wad of silver goo. Attack:
1d20+3=5 He misses.

His astral construct continues the rogue beat-down! Or at least, it tries to.
Attack: 1d20+3=5 2 in a row? NOO!!! Bad!

Lori decides now is as good a time for defense as any, and casts her Extended Mage Armor.

OOC: Bah, who needs spells in reserve? Not me.

Shadow manifests his temporary hit points. As his flesh temporarily stitches together, he makes his comment - and is rewarded with a gruff chuckle from an invisible source.

Haltash's attempt to demoralize the attackers seems to fail - the remaining attacker on guardian seems unaffected (Will save (1d20+3=23)), although the faster footsteps of the invisible woman seems to indicate that the attempt was a success (Will save (1d20+5=11))

Guardian promptly dispatches the remaining attacker. He lets out a scream, and falls in pain.

**END OF COMBAT**

There is the sound of breaking glass - it seems as if more attackers are beginning to land in the abandoned office.

"It's fake, it's fake!" a voice cries out. There is the sound of furniture breaking, and then the remaining crewman that had been left behind emerges from the office.

"There's a lot of them!" he cries out, and runs down the hallway. Rukus nods his head quietly, and follows.

Haltash's prisoner looks at the dead bodies, and then fearfully looks at the group. "Maybe we should...?" he says.

"Let's get the heck out of here. Blondie the invisible woman is probably running for help as we speak, more bad guys are coming in like rabbits, and I have virtually no power left, as I would assume is the case with quite a few of our casters and manifesters. recommends Shadow, trying not to look like tough and not like an exhausted, damaged changeling.

Tondrek, a bit scared and confused, echos the sentiment. "We go now? Bad people bad. I just wanna build things, not be Bad." He starts pulling back, though not too far if folks delay.

Guardian nods at the talk of retreat. "We should withdraw. They outnumber our forces, have the high ground, and we have noncombatants to defend."

T'Ranis will go fetch his prisoner and the crewmember he set to guarding him, and bring them back to Guardian.

Haltash follow the group in his retreat, sheeting his dagger on teh way and drawing his crossbow.
