W3: The Eidolon (Bront Judging)

Everyone makes their defensive moves, except for Lori, who pulls off a shot with her crossbow while crabwalking, searching for cover.

The shot buries itself into the wall of the building the sniper is hiding in.

Everyone is tripping over bodies as they search for cover. Poor Tondrek is actually using two humans, layered on top of each other, as his form of cover.

Nearby, a woman close to panic is searching the bodies, flipping one over dreadfully, looking at the face, and moving to the next, almost hysterical.

The sniper reappears with a loaded crossbow, and releases a shot against the first person he sees: T'Ranis.

But the bolt misses - barely.

He tries to duck behind the wall again, but he's open for just a few moments as he reloads.

ooc: Does this mean we're minus our Dex bonus due to balancing? Otherwise, a 14 wouldn't be close.

T'Ranis takes another move action, moving forward 30', preferably to open ground on which he can stand without balancing. He fires at the sniper, but his shot goes badly astray. The bolt embeds itself solidly in the wall of the building, a good foot away from the window.

Oh, good! Without his Dex bonus, T'ranis is much too easy a target. Now that he's no longer full defending, his AC is a 19, 23 if he has cover.

Tondrek looks a bit scared to be hiding behind the bodies, and his green hands tremble as he loads his crossbow.

Lori's had enough of this, and casts Magic Missile, pelting the sniper with cyan bolts.

The last thing the sniper sees is a bolt of magical energy streaking towards his face. It strikes him, killing him instantly.

You all stand in a field of dead bodies. The village stretches on ahead of you. You remember the route to the monastery - simply following a few easily-noticeable roads.

Lori does a little fist pump before she quickly collects herself, feigns straightening her robes, and starts walking towards the monastery.

T'Ranis will move out immediately, attempting to remain unseen as he scouts out the path in front of the party. He will take 10 on his hide and move silently checks, for a 19 in each.

Shadow, manages to focus his will and toughen his body before thudding into the ground. Nevertheless, it was a close one. Nearly half of the temporary toughing remains, however, it is not enough to stop the pain. The telepath lies on the ground for a moment. "Ow. I should have stayed in bed today, but noo..." Then he gets up. "What did I miss?"
