Wand and Rod use question

First, I apologize profusely if this has been done to death.

Ok, when using magic items, can anyone (any PC class?) use wands and rods? (It would be great if you could provide pages for reference).

Staves are pretty much for spell casters,
otherwise it's pretty wide open as far as wonderous items and weapons
(assuming one can use the weapon in the first place).

Look up "Spell Trigger Activation" in the DMG, at the start of the magic items section.

You can only use a wand or staff if the spell is on your class list.

Most Rods are not spell trigger items, and can be used by anyone.
