Wanted: Good News Site Viewable on iPhone

Hi!

Come December, to save money my husband and I will be switching to an iPhone for all our internet viewing and telephoning. Ironic, isn't it--that a freakin' expensive handheld electronic gadget still allows us to save over and beyond our home cable bundle?! We've already ditched cable television and the house phone. I've been granted a six-week pass on maintaining the home internet service for the computer in order to be able to finish my programming homework for my course.

That said, mid-December, we'll be ditching home internet service as well and going solo with the iPhone. I've already found that I don't miss television at all, save for watching the local and national news once or twice a week. I'm therefore looking for a good news website, something that doesn't take forever and a day to load on a handheld device. I'm conservative in my viewing taste, don't much care for CNN but neither do I like Fox. Does anyone have a good, conservative-leaning news website that they'd care to recommend? I don't mind advertisements but an excess of video running in the site's background will cause it to load painfully slowly, which is something I'll be seeking to avoid.

Anyone familiar with CBC or PBS? Those any good as online news feeds?

I've never tried it on the iPhone, but you could take a look at BBC news. I find that because it comes outside of the US it doesn't have as much of a "spin" as you might find in news about the US that comes from inside the US. It's a more neutral news agency because it's remote from us.
