I think shadow has fallen to the classic blunder:

It's not like I'm a bleeding heart or anything, and I know he was going for funny, and I'm not dramatically offended by it, but it's sort of like the Ghandi joke Senator Clinton made -- it was an attempt at humor that just sorta went over flat.
