war wizards?

so in the complete warrior, under the description for purple dragon knights, it mentions that wizards and sorcerors often join the war wizards, who are allied with the purple dragon knights. is this another presitge class? if so, where is it listed? is there anyplace else i can learn about these war wizards? i've been puzzling over it for a while now.

It's probably the War Wizards of Cormyr (Purple Dragon Knight is a FR-specific PrC usually, much like the Red Wizard). You find them in Magic of Faerun, IIRC.

They're talking about the War Wizard of Cormyr, a Prestige class that you can find in Magic of Faerûn. I don't know if said PrC was updated.

Well, there is a War Wizard of Cormyr PrC, but both (Purple Dragon and War Wizards) are organizations (or rather royal forces) in the Forgotten Realms, (of Cormyr, to be more precise). The Purple Dragons are the royal elite troups, and the war wizards are the kingdom's spellforce.
